Safehold Rules Targeted Feedback on the Safehold V Recipe > PART TWO 1 year 1 month ago #1

Thanks for the lively feedback about the cost of the program. Please see the latest update on the recipe for the Savehold V tokens and Hirelings. Please keep your comments confined, if you wish, to just the Safehold V recipes. The chart for the cost of the later Safehold tokens is just a general guide -- and they will be much debated at a later date. Doing so now really is not much use to anyone. Sorry.

We tweaked the formula to require less of the higher value Trade tokens -- to help out the newer players. The cost of the Hirelings also went down. This will not be the case with Safehold IV and the Underlings at the next level. Those recipes will be debated in a few months as we get closer to them being available.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

I may have missed discussion in the other thread, since it went in ...a few... directions.

It seems like there's still a massive glut of fleece out there and nothing to consume it. I think you're right that it shouldn't be a big component of the recipe due to newer drop rates and contention with story transmutes, now that those are back. Is there any consideration of it as a wildcard? Eg. Counts as 10 TG1 or 5TG2?*

Or is another sink coming for that to drain it?

* Whatever the right numbers are, I don't want to litigate the number of TG1/TG2. I don't know the ratio and don't really care. :)

PDF on the rules page has 1k GP bar and here its 2x 1k GP bar. Either is fine just want to make sure they are consistent across documents.

Jeff, I'll just repeat my comments that the general costs for Safehold III, II, and I seem too low and Mythics II and I seem too low, although it sounds like those numbers are fairly meaningless at this point.

I think the Safehold V costs are fine. It seems like a nice entry level cost and power that most players should be able to afford if they want to.

I would change the Fleece requirement to 2 for the Safehold V Under construction recipe. Fleece is cheap and this drives more players towards VTD or in person runs. The other TG requirements look good.

For the actual Safehold V recipe I think it's too low. 2K in GP is about $25. So $25 to complete the building?? Too cheap, why bother at that point. It will cost someone $10-12 just to mail the 2K in. Plus there is no GP requirement in the Under construction recipe. I suggest raising it to 5K. That seems more appropriate to finish off a structure.

Hirelings look good.

+1 to requiring more Golden Fleece (or wild Monster Bits) in the recipes - and can even be thematic since Safehold can reflect our tenure as Adventurers.

will there be any consideration/plans for international Transmuters for the Safehold tokens? we often get our token deliveries stuck in customs for >2 months, which may make meeting the timeline for the transmutes awkward (plus not actually having the token available for use if it's in transit for 2/3 of the time), not to mention occasionally getting duties of 150$ tacked on to single transmutes -- and we're even only in canada.

Going to disagree with most everyone else and say keep the fleece requirement for SH5 and each follower at 1. We have 4 more levels to go through. I think this is perfect for level 1. Looks good - ship it.

(Also I'm agreeing with Mike Steele here. That alone should be a sign this is on the right track)

Yeah, for "entry level, get everyone involved", this looks about perfect. Agreed there should be more fleece burning in later levels, but this is good for low barrier of entry

Yeah, definitely don't add more and make it inaccessible. I just liked it as a bit of wild flexibility, but it's better to ship it.

The document states:

The Hirelings, Underlings and Follower tokens will have the same cost within their group, but the Mythic tokens may vary slightly.

That sentence makes it sound like the Hirelings, Underlings, and Followers will all cost the same. I know that's not the intent and it says within their group but still...one could read it that way.

Agree with this, Fleece is hard to come by for new players without TEs. This is something I had overlooked earlier until Cassie pointed it out.

For Safehold V keep Golden Fleece minimal… and maybe add oodles of these to later levels.
