Mulling the idea of introducing a new class of items: Arcane Caster Offhands.

These would be 1 handed, offhand items usable by Bards and Wizards.

In terms of effect, I imagine stuff like:
+1 focus (various Rares provide this benefit)

May re-cast a 0-level Level spell just cast - as a scroll (1/room) (Ring of the Norns)

May cast a 1st Level spell without crossing it off (1/game) (Weaker version of UR "of Expertise" effect)

Sacrifice a 1st Level spell to prevent 10 HP of damage as an instant action (1/room)

Etc.

Theming would be things like:

Codex of the Planes
Basilisk Claw
Crystal Skull

Etc.


(if this idea works well, we could perhaps also have Divine Caster Offhands for Bard, Cleric, and Druid - although I think that is harder to balance because Cleric and Druids have 1 handed spell boosters for the mainhand).

(Consumable)
(+2 to damage for any ranged weapon attack with weapon that uses munitions)

+3 Will saves bead, congruent to the 2022 Bead of Chugging:

Have it transmute to a +6 ring much like the Chugging bead did.

Also bard, cleric, and Druid all have shields, could do a “shield of focus” with uncommon typical ac bonus and a focus aspect? I’d still keep it “open” to not focus classes, just of lesser benefit, fighters I’m looking out for you, and maybe rogues if it were a “buckler of focus”?

I like it! Especially with how hard it is to get Bead Cleric's Piety.

It needs to be limited enough not to become a way to breeze through NM/Epic, the DC maybe should be higher to give it a chance at working on room 7 bosses at normal though?

I wouldn't recommend a DC15 on it. Not because I think the monster would pass that too often, but because anything which causes to DM to slow combat down to roll dice isn't worth the time spent on it.
(Plus, I love our DMs, and hate giving them more things they have to pay attention to on the combat board)

Maybe a star icon on one of the numbers to trigger the effect, I think there would need to be more numbers in the damage wheel though. If it has a reasonably high chance of working in high difficulty runs I'd be worried about it getting swapped in whenever a casting monster shows up.

Paranormal-ish themed tokens:

Bracers of Ki Channeling:
+1 to AC
Monks may use as FoB weapon
Monks may deal 5 additional psychic damage on hit (3/game)
Damage wheel: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Usable by: all

Potion Clairvoyance:
+1 to hit, +1 to AC, suffer no penalty from blindness or monster invisibility

Potion Invisibility:
You are invisible until you take an offensive action.

Phantasmal Quiver (Back):
Ranged ammunition not turned in on a miss
Usable by All

Scroll Friendly Ghost:
Choose: Prevent the next 8 damage that would be dealt to chosen ally, or deal 8 damage to an evil enemy.
Usable By: Bard, Cleric, Druid

Scroll Hex:
This round, monsters are automatically hit on a slides of 6 and 13.
Usable by: Bard, Wizards
