TOPIC: Open gaming at Skull Con, and what are you bringing?

If there is enough interest, I would be happy to host a game of “Og the Role Playing Game.”

For those who aren’t familiar - Og is an RPG where you are playing cavemen(cavepersons?cavethings?) You are just trying to survive. It uses fairly simple game mechanics with one important exception.

The class you play determines how many words you know. For the entire game, you can only use those words. “Strong Caveman” may be great at thumping but listening to him try to warn his clan of an approaching saber-toothed tiger using his three words is a comedy goldmine. Sure, with his two words known he could get lucky and have drawn “Big” and “Hairy” but when he got “water” and “verisimilitude” - his intentions aren’t quite as clear. Smart caveman with a whopping FOUR or FIVE words is a poet by comparison.

I modified the original RPG for a game I had planned to run at GenCon. The adventure is based on a popular short story. I also developed a house rule to solve for dumb cavemen drawing to solve their communication problems (smart cavemen can draw as normal, others have tools modifying this ability ranging from oven mitts to baseball gloves.)

Let me know if there is interest. The game would run about 3-4 hours. If we have more than 5 or 6 interested people, I had an idea for having competing clans in the same adventure.

I'm thinking casual gaming as I won't have a lot of time and I'd like to keep things relaxing. For those reasons, I'm bringing card games like Werewolf, Graverobbers from Outer Space, and Love Letter.

If any of you will be in town on Thursday, you can bring games to the FREE pizza/soda party. We'll have the Hampton Inn conference room all night from 6pm until 5am the next morning.

I’ll bring some MtG boxes if anyone wants to draft for gold/cash, and I’ll bring 7th Continent, Tainted Grail, and Tak if anyone wants to play those. I’m sure I’ll load up some others.

Same here. I would definitely like to join if space allows.

I'm packing to leave and head that direction tomorrow. I can take a few games, let me know if anyone wants to play the following:

- Battletech Alphastrike or Classic Ed. (would be willing to teach either)
- Terraforming Mars with Prelude and Venus next expansion with 3D tiles
- Gooey Cube D&D 5e 1-shot (3 hours with pregens)
- Gooey Cube Deck of Perilous Fortuity card cames

All this talk of M:tG has me considering bringing my Unstable cube. Can support 4 players for sure, probably 8. I have to check how much basic land I put in it. We'll see if there's interest and room to pack it.

Still planning on Too Many Bones: Undertow, and I have some transmuting to do, so timing may be a factor. Currently planning on Thursday arrival, hopefully in time for the pizza party.

Also tentatively interested in the drafts some others mentioned.
