TOPIC: Change in Freebie for Mailing All Swag to One Address?

I need your feedback on the idea of changing our freebie bonus for one player having all the swag for the tickets she bought sent to one address -- instead of to a bunch of the other folks who used the other tickets. Last year, we gave that cool person a free 2020 pack of tokens for each extra ticket's worth of swag they had mailed to them (instead of to the player). This saved us a lot of shipping expenses.
The downside was that it ended up making a lot of folks transmute tokens that they normally would not have wanted to do so.

So...how about this? Instead of the freebie being a free pack of 2022 tokens for each extra ticket's swag sent to one place, we make the freebie a random 2022 treasure draw? It would reduce transmsuting for all -- and it would give us more token packs to sell.

Thoughts?

So retail pack is $8. A treasure draw (per your earlier assessment regarding pirate maps) is $3 to $4. So how about 2 treasure draws?

I personally would prefer packs just because it is an extra source of Dwarven Steel and Minotaur Hides, but I understand that is just my personal choice.

With only 5 new VTD adventures slated, I would like the packs.

Trying to roll a 00 seems better than the +1 treasure pick that is likely to end up being a rare or uncommon anyway.

I would also agree with this. I'd prefer the extra 10 pack vs an extra +1 treasure draw

So to go even...
I want to consider 101 runs....which gives 100 bonus player packs...
they would contain
100 rares,
300 uncommons, and
699 commons....
AND from probability 1 UR...

Now, lets look at getting 100 treasure pulls...based on the VTD pull sheet tracking...
...we would get a blend of
15 Monster Bits
37 Rares
37 Uncommons
13.5 Others
.5 UR or Better (which include class relics, legendary, wish ring, etc)


On the surface, I think an extra Treasure Pull is the right switch...if you do two per, its a no brainer.

I will say, my group split our "buys" for this year because the transmutes became really a pain for me...but this change would certainly make our crew consider another year of "all to one address"

Considering, you don't have to give us anything for choosing this option, I'm fine with the treasure chip(s). Less money spent on shipping costs means more money spent on cool stuff in the dungeon.

My initial reaction:

1. a single treasure pull feels like less than a 1-pack at first. Even though there is a chance of getting a trade good or even a better than UR token in treasure, the chance is small.

2. If the idea is to reduce transmutes for people, perhaps a random trade good instead of a pack? Maybe that's too much since a single pack doesn't make a trade token. Some people might also not have much use for the trade goods.

3. This is a thank-you gift from TD for saving them time and money on shipping. In reality, I bet a lot of the extra packs are going to people like me, with multiple runs, where all the tokens would be shipped to one address anyway. Whatever True Dungeon gives as a thank-you freebie is good enough.

4. Jeff, thanks so much for asking for feedback on this. It shows that your customer's opinions matter to you and you are trying to to what's best for True Dungeon and the players.

5. If I could choose, I think I personally like the 10-pack over a single Treasure.

I'd prefer packs to an extra treasure draw, although I would understand why you'd want to make the change. I think if you'd made it an extra treasure draw from the very start people would have been pretty happy with that. Although I'm not sure it will apply to me anymore, one adventure per month was too often for my friends that I did VTD with, so they're bowing out of VTD adventures.

An extra 10 pack is my preference.

I'm trying to wrap my head around transmutes they didn't want to do.

It reduces DS and MH, as mentioned. Run/VTD packs are my only significant source of commons, anymore.

What I'd like is the option of taking treasure as treasure chips rather than having the pulls done for me. That's a bunch more admin, though, to have it be an *option*. But, I don't have much of an opinion as packs are more weight and more space just to turn into trade goods.

If you wanted to be more complicated and generous, combine treasure draw with a number of DS and MH based on number of packs. That's still lower volume/mass without taking as many DS/MH out of the pool. I don't care enough to do the math but somebody can come up with average number per pack and send average number, minimum 1.

I also prefer the extra packs. But I'm fine with an extra pull or better yet 2 as some have suggested.

My whole group is local and they have made me the keeper of all the tokens (except one guy). They just like me to show off cool stuff to them. So the extra packs have been awesome for us! In the end, whatever you do here Jeff won't damper my enthusiasm, I appreciate the extra stuff.

Otherwise, I'm in the camp of preferring the extra 10-pack, specifically for DS & MH commons
