I haven't seen how you get to a +4 Turkey Leg. I'm not sure how you get the +2 UR either. So how I feel about it depends a bit on how you get it. But unless it is a very limited token, I agree it is way too powerful.

One idea that might be fun is to take the "Greasy Turkey Leg" concept and you can still make it a +4 if you want to, but the damage dial could be some mix of damage numbers and another symbol. If you slide the other symbol, you have dropped the turkey leg and can't use it again this room. This could be anything from the current numbers but one or two "dropped", or perhaps one damage of say 20 and all of the rest cause you to drop the token.

Because some people are expressing their dislike, I just want to say that slot-expanders are my favorite kind of token. I am looking forward to expanding my charm slots to try out some of the large number of charms that I have been accumulating to try out different builds. Eventually expanding Ioun Stone slots through a transmute is fine, but at the moment with the loss of the necklace to the class neck, I really would prefer charm slots.

Yeah, I'm not seeing why it should be easy to max out charm slots.

The slot max was only necessary because the game keeps adding more slot expanders. There's always the option for the game to stop doing that, then doesn't need to come up with arbitrary slot expansion maximums. Or, we can just start coming up with more slot expansion maximums, like no more than five fingers tokens and have people want to get to those caps as quickly as possible.

On the whole I think I agree it would be better not to have legendary slot expanders at all.

If we must have one, though, I'll propose this idea once more:

reinstate Earcuff of Orbits
relic earcuff: +2 IS, +1 Charm
Luna's Earcuff: +2 IS, +2 Charm, may not equip relic

This avoids hitting the IS cap in a single token next year, and avoids permanently slot-locking wrists this year, both of which promote more build diversity than the current design.

This seems like a good plan if there must be a slot expander legendary.

Yeah, I had the same thought... it's greasy, it might just fly out when you attack with it. Is it not being a FoB weapon like the rare and UR intentional?

In light of this perspective, I retract my earlier correction. Greasy Turkey Legs for all (if you can hold on to it)!

Hits a random person when used as a weapon

Fob compatible if the monk has a high enough dex (or equips napkins in the off hand) XD

Also serious question, how does that +4 leg stack up to relic thors?

Relic Thor’s:
+3
6.5 average damage
Crit 19-20
Does NOT return

+4 Turkey leg
+4
7.16 average damage
Crit 19-20
returns

Great comparison, Turkey Leg is definitely OP if it's that much better then the Relic Hammer.

I have Very limited internet this weekend so I haven’t read all this, however:

+4 returning turkey leg is much, much too strong.

Crit on 19 usually costs -1 to hit, but instead this has +1 to hit beyond a normal relic.

Compare with +3 throwing hammer of smiting, this has:

A. A better damage wheel.
B. Returning
C. No DEX 18 requirement.

This is probably better than. +3 viper strike fangs for melee rangers, with +1 to hit and crit on 19 in exchange for a minor drop in damage (unless the ranger has viper strike set bonus).

Assuming it’s FoB compatible same goes for monks.

A reasonable usable by all melee relic would be:

+2 to hit
19+ crit range
6.5 average damage

And the some minor bonus, such as throwable. Returning is too much with the stats above in my opinions.

And, while I don’t want to yuk other peoples Yums, for me I would be very disappointed if the best melee relic weapon in the game was a usable by all turkey leg.

I know it's a meme weapon but the turkey leg might become my fighter primary weapon.

+2 and +4 imply magic imbued? So.. some crazy person touched it with magic and we are having food fights in the dungeon. I do think the turkey leg is a bit “much” at +4...but a +3 maybe? I really do like some kind of icon on the damage wheel such that if gets sent “off” and unusable rest of room.

I also think a “shot to the mouth” of monster is a remove from dungeon shot. But that’s just thinking it thru some

The Turkey Leg is almost as good as Thor's. -1 to hit, and -1.35 average damage.

And as others have already mentioned in the SPECIAL thread, the whole point of the Turkey Leg is for the purpose of meme running. I would vote for dropping it.

I like the TD's current plan of having separate expanders for IS and Charm. A +2 / +2 in the ear slot outclasses Orion's so badly. Orion's is diminishing in value, but at least it to-date is the only token that expands both.

By making legendary orbits 2 IS and 2 Charms, you need 2 tokens to reach max IS. If you do a 4 IS orbits, then you can max IS with a single token.

The first solution (2 Charms and 2 IS) is preferable as it allows other slot expanders like Orion’s or Arcane Bracelets to retain more of their value. Furthermore, it’s likely to generate more sales as orbits has been out of print longer, and thus reached a smaller “Install base” than the later charm bracelets.

Yeah I get it's funny and people enjoy doing the Turkey leg runs. But to me it takes a lot of enjoyment from the game when a Turkey leg is arguably much better than my +3 Holy Avenger. It makes me feel like everything is just a big joke. Sorry if I don't have a good sense of humor. I'm fine with like a +1 Turkey Leg...haha. But when Turkey leg is the best weapon in the game of Relic level. well, if this stays the same I'll be disappointed.

Edit: Softened my tone, cause it was too negative. I don't like the Turkey legs...sorry.

Lol - that makes two of us.

Let me say I am delighted that people enjoy turkey leg runs!

But it’s not for everyone.

One could say it’s... an acquired taste :woohoo:
