From various comments on other threads, I think that the biggest concern with moving the guided strike ability to another slot was that it would be too powerful unless it was on a Rogue-only token. So a set bonus may be less suited to it than just printing it on a specific token - if it's UR, I'd be more than happy with the proposed rare one with a slight power up to reflect it being UR - for example

While Sneak Attacking, +1 to hit and ignore Critical and Sneak Attack immunities.

Unlike the bracers, this only works while Sneak Attacking so won't let you Crit with regular attacks. To balance that, it provides an additional +1 to hit while Sneak Attacking - which also takes away some of the pain from losing the hit bonuses from the Eyes slot.


I don't really love the idea or taking away the sniper spectacle reprint (or functional reprint if it ended up as a deadshot item) for a rogue-specific item, since I know other classes have been asking for that a bunch as well.

While I like the idea of guided strike as gloves the most (so you still have to choose between being able to use basic class features for rogues or your current +3 ranged damage/+2 str gloves), I also find the idea of a set bonus for guided strike interesting, since then it doesn't make it too easy for melee classes to ignore crit immunity since they would have to equip multiple ranged-specific tokens to access it.


My intention definitely wasn't to get rid of Sniper Spectacles as lots of people want that reprint, this would replace the gloves and go in the set alongside Sniper Spectacles.

Guided Strike gloves would work as well, but since the variety of existing gloves currently offer melee and ranged Rogues a choice of a large hit or a large damage boost (or both, from +4 STR gloves) it's a slot I'd rather didn't get locked by the Guided Strike ability. It's for that reason that I think lenses would be a better fit, replacing the gloves currently in the set.
I play Rogue. Occasionally I even play Rogue well.

Believe me, I feel that. I also completely agree that rogues having their main class ability slot-locked is rough. That's why I figured putting the ability in a second slot as well as bracers might be the way to go to open up options since those two slots are relatively close to one another in power level.

+1 to that. That's why it might be better to give it to the gloves, since they are a similarly powered slot to wrists, and then any hypothetical ranged deadshot set bonuses are for those people who combine it with the other ranged bonus pieces of the set.

Questor's Charm of Luck already exists. Not that it would be the same thing, but it would be nice to avoid confusion between URs.

I just looked again after someone mentioned it yesterday in a thread somewhere... Can't believe I didn't see it on this round of images before.... What happened to the URTE Bead? I don't see a URTE at all.

Shifting Guided Strike into gloves or spectacles alone requires a substantial glove or glasses sacrifice by itself. But I think that can be worked with. Shifting it into a set would require a sacrifice of:
1 Charm and 2 Ioun Stones (Orion's Belt) when Ioun slots are already in high demand. (Drop in save scores? Stat bonuses? Imunities?)
-2/-3 to reflex and -2/-3 to AC switching from Gloves of the Cutpurse to Gloves of the Deadshot.

That feels like way too much lack of choice in how people want to arrange their builds as well as constricting people into a set they may not want.

I like that, and think it'd be an excellent offering for next year if it doesn't make this year's cut.

(As a side note, I would push for a static +1 to hit to either Ranged or Melee, since a Conditional Sneak Attack bonus can't be calculated in the App or Party Card, and would rely on the player to remember / call it out to the DM every time.)

With three current +x to hit with ranged attacks UR tokens on the table I'm hopeful it doesn't seem to crazy to think one of the two +3 ones might get swapped out for something,
