I like the thought, but I would be more happy if we could skip the mighty sling for a few years for a more accurate sling. If you’re honestly using a sling, you’re probably a Cleric or Wizard who ran out of spells. In either case, you’re terribly unlikely to have either a) enough Dex / +ranged hit to actually hit with a +1 or b) enough Str to actually add a modifier to the damage.

Agree. To hit is more important than damage, especially on the Cleric side. Maybe toss in another twist as well while we're at it.

How about a sling with say +3 to hit, but a damage wheel with only a +1 baked-in bonus. But also, allows you to apply a weapon oil as an instant action each round? (With stacking)

I did suggest a +2 sling of seeking in the UR section. +2 damage wheel but an additional +3 hit (5 total).

A Instant action addition of oil might be too much, but FA might be fine (or reprint quiver of anointment). Could go with expanded crit range I suppose, but not sure I love that either.

Certain Figurines. (Panther, Owl, Cat, Phoenix and eventually Raven specifically.)
Greater Holy Symbol of Pelor.
Helm of Retribution.
Druids Wild Vestments - Maybe an update with added Damage Bonus or something.
Ioun Stone Topaz Trilliant.
Pouch of Tulz
Quiver of Anointment

Goblet of Healing w/Faerie Waters
Censor of Sacrifice w/Gems
(or something new with similar mechanics useful in current times)

Just reprinted in 2018 and appears to be reasonably available for slightly more than a PYP.

Just get a rare Mighty Sling and an Enchanter's Whetstone.

+1 Mighty Slight should not be reprinted at UR as the effect is available from lower rarity items now.

I'm all for a UR STR bonus weapon of some kind usable by all - but make it better than +1 Mighty Sling somehow.

+1 mighty sling is at least a magic item - meaning that mighty sling + whetstone can't hurt something only hurt by magical weapons.

Its not much of a distinction, but its a little bit of something.

I would still prefer a higher accuracy sling .

Nightshade's Throwing Dagger was released in the 2021 set which serves the same purpose and is very close in function and power level (if your ranged damage bonus is high then you may get slightly less damage on a crit, but this is not a particularly noticeable amount unless you have a very invested build, and moreover you aren't forced to equip Lenses of Agility to sneak attack with it).
