Here we go. I think True Dungeon does an amazing job turning around the treasure for our runs. That certainly didn't change with this run.

I got my first tracking update Tuesday afternoon, hours earlier than I'd received any previous Carbondale notices. And then the shipment arrived in St Louis at 12:07am this morning. That's the last update. Now certainly, it could be in transit and just wasn't scanned. That's happened before. But the last two shipments had been scanned 3-4 times by now and were already waiting to be shipped out of Aurora, Illinois. Sigh.

This reminds me more of my V1a shipment which went "off the grid" for a week and turned up in Houston before getting rerouted back to Wisconsin. Well, I'm going to hold out hope that it's still on the "happy path" and I'll get it before the end of the week (fingers crossed). Of course I've read lots of stories here about other TD packages getting misrouted. I sort of picture USPS guys sitting around with 20 sided die and if your package fails its saving throw it gets diverted to some random truck.

Strange feeling of deja vu.

Last package scan still says it was received in St. Louis Wednesday morning at 12:07am. At least when my V1a package was misrouted to Houston it said "In Transit" until it showed up 5 days later. My last three packages all arrived within 2 business days of being accepted in Carbondale. All 3 showed a status of "Out for Delivery" at exactly 7:10am. Based on that, I would have expected the same status this morning with package in hand within a few hours.

Maybe they're just swamped with packages right now and aren't bothering to do a lot of scans, but that doesn't feel right either. I had considered the Houston mishap an anomaly since USPS has generally provided great service. But if this package goes awry, that makes for 2 mishaps out of the last 5. A 40% error rate would put a lot of private companies out of business. I worked in business for nearly 40 years. Fixing errors is very costly. Preventing them from happening in the first place is much more cost effective.

Maybe my worries are needless and I'll be surprised with delivery today or tomorrow. There have been rare occasions where that has also happened. Here's hoping others are having a better experience with this and good luck with your pulls.

There have definitely been issues with USPS shipping overall this year. Personally, I had a birthday card that came two weeks late (15 days after the postmark), and I've had priority packages (which usually 2-4 days) that have taken 9-10.

mine show recieved and moving, nothing beyond that.

Remember this is December during a lockdown. I expect the number of christmas gifts in transit is up at least 25% and it's already a slow time.

I know its December and I actually expected it might take a little longer. I'd be perfectly ok if it even took twice as long to get here. I just expected a status update now and then to let me see how its progressing. There might be an argument that they are so busy they don't have time to scan the packages, but it seems to me that a lack of scanning just adds to the problem and creates an atmosphere of "we have no idea what's going on or where any packages are at." Still, thanks for sharing your status. At least its not just my package not getting updated.

The post office has seen about a 30-40% rise in packages since March with the pandemic and with the Christmas season now having hit it is up another 30-40%. Everything is supposed to be scanned but with the increase in volume and the staff shortages that they have seen due to people quitting and/or getting sick there have definitely been issues.

AND they were ordered to not replace any staff that leave

AND they were ordered to disassemble mail sorting machines in several major cities earlier this year.

So yeah, can't really blame the delays and errors on the USPS this year

Jeff or Lori (I forget) posted some images on FB of the Treasure filling 2 trucks. I looked at and thought. There are fewer distinct people purchasing tickets than I thought.

I think it's less that and more that we're seeing a lot of groups build where one player has URTE tokens to cover multiple spots so more players are getting full treasure than would in a standard year. It's also much more open on the event days for players to run multiple times as there's less other competing events to pull players away from TD. And there's less need to give yourself time between runs for meals since you can eat while playing.

There's definitely a chunk of players who are buying more tickets than normal but it's multiple factors feeding into it.

Or a lot of friends/guilds combining shipping to one central person.
