The folks at TD make this game because it brings all of us joy. Holding back transmuting the teeth, and thus depriving you or another player the joy of attending the event is just

The teeth were, and have always been thank yous from TD.

The Semi-Lich Skull was, by design, a solution for excess teeth.

An ultimatum of "both or boycott" is super uncool.

I sincerely hope that everyone who has access to all 7 teeth makes the Skull and either attends the event or sells the ticket so another player gets to.

The final skull gives me 1 subclass per year. Which is cool but limited to 1 use per year.

The semi lich skull gives me 7HP on every run.

The overall change to me as an eldritch user currently sitting at 2 piece is +1 spell damage (I do not use melee or ranged)

So my choice is +1 Spell Damage or +7 HP.

That's not a cut and dry decision for someone who uses mad evoker's charm.

I'm NOT saying boycott or both I'm asking for a middle ground on the final token.

Also where the hell are you getting $7000 worth of bonuses?

Also they are MY teeth, I purchased them, how would I be depriving another player of attending the event? It's my choice.

It is your game sir. I think I agree with the others who believe a unique adventure and a once per year subclass are stronger than your 7 HP. I'd suggest you sell your second tooth (as that is likely the tooth people are looking for) and go with 6HP and enough spare cash to get your wizard relic and parts of the legendary. win for you (1 hp lost for a lot of money is a win in my book, ymmv) and win for the community.

That said, your repeated "HP please" has been noted. We all appreciate the sentiment and hope you enjoy your game.

May your slides always land true my friend.

*sigh*

I have not been shouting HP PLEASE.

I have been saying that I was upset there was no indicator on the Semi Lich Skull that it would be incompatible with the final transmute.

I've asked that either that decision be reversed or something be done for players who have the completed skull.

I dislike the fact that the completed skull doesn't give me any sort of HP boost with the skull like leaving all 7 untransmuted does.

I don't feel like I am wrong to post my feelings on the token design and interaction in a thread designed for thoughts and feelings on token design.

I do feel it's inappropriate for multiple people to be making snide comments at me for voicing my opinion and I do feel it's inappropriate for people to insinuate my considerations on transmuting MY OWN PERSONALLY OWNED tokens is bad and that I am somehow "depriving you or another player the joy of attending the event"

It's my opinion on what is, to me, an unnecessary token invalidation that specifically affects a small subset of players and was not adequately identified as doing so before it was made available to purchase.

I think I am allowed to be upset by that, no matter what anyone else feels on the subject.

I agree with most of what you've said, except "I have been saying that I was upset there was no indicator on the Semi Lich Skull that it would be incompatible with the final transmute." and "an unnecessary token invalidation that specifically affects a small subset of players and was not adequately identified as doing so before it was made available to purchase."

I completely disagree with this statement, and I believe Jeff stated it specifically during token design last year. I do not have a post to quote for you, but I believe others have already done so in this thread.

You absolutely should voice your opinion, and this thread is expressly for that. I'm glad you're doing so, even with others shouting you down (metaphorically)

You are the only one who controls your feelings, so being upset is also well within your rights. Expressing that feeling likewise falls within your control.

You aren't responsible for other people's happiness either, so don't worry about "depriving someone else" of anything. They'll have that chance.

I wasn't part of token design last year. I tend to take years off due to the number of conflicts that occur.

No one has yet linked a single post from Jeff stating that they would be incompatible. And even if they do. That doesn't change the fact that there was no way for someone who didn't participate in token design last year to know the intent because it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the store page or in the token database.

I shouldn't be expected to go diving through year old discussion threads to verify if a token I am looking at has a hidden restriction baked into it. That's all I am saying.

The design was done for that item around there being a market for teeth post transmute. honestly it didn't keep the value of teeth very high, the 6th was going for $35 in auctions at one point and can be found for $50 now I believe.

My latest auction closed yesterday with them going for $30-$31.

There was a glut of 6th as extras were inadvertently included in 1k and higher orders last year.

I received no extras in any of my 8K orders. I believe the extras were in 1K and 2K orders only.

Me neither.

I'll absolutely transmute all of mine, but if someone feels that +7 HP is worth more to them than the Eldritch Skull and doesn't transmute, that's certainly their option. I'm sure some potential Skulls won't get transmuted simply because some people will want copies of each of the individual teeth for their collection, as well.

Oh lord...you are right. That is gonna be a pretty penny. Oh well...the new collector's deserve it!

Jeff, thanks! Having them individually numbered is going to make them even cooler! :)

I went back and look at the range of prices on 6th teeth from my various pre-orders and auction and they started at $38 at the beginning and have worked down to $30-31 as of yesterday.

I agree with some others in this thread: either make the Skull punt as its constituent parts so it functions with Semi-Lich but can’t be stacked with loose teeth OR make an 8th tier psychic power that is permanent (such as +7HP, does not count towards psychic powers used) and say it doesn’t work with Semi-Lich.

I don’t think this is game-breakingly powerful. I do think Semi-Lich was not made clear enough (I was part of 2020 token design and by the end I was still left feeling uncertain if Semi-Lich would be an ingredient in Skull of Cavadar from Jeff’s comments/lack of comments). It was never listed clearly in the store, it was not printed on the token, it was not published on tokendb. It will be the first and only token in the game that does not count as its constituent parts, working opposite of CoA and CoAS. And it will be the first ever transmute that is actually not objectively strictly better than its constituent parts. Oh, and no one seems like they will be mad if that extra is added in but several people have expressed they will be disappointed/frustrated if it is not included or may even skip transmuting because of it. I don’t think the purpose of Semi-Lich Skull was to decrease the number of transmutes that happen.

Clearly, if the goal was for Semi-Lich to only be beneficial to people with less than 7 teeth or only 7 teeth after the transmute tripe expires, and this is intended to be the transmute, one of the two tokens (or both) have failed to achieve the intended design. Maybe Semi-Lich needs/needed a restriction like + max HP but counts as your psychic power used for the dungeon and then it wouldn’t be the problem it has become.

Where would you draw the line on constituent parts? There are a handful of tokens that provide psychic ability and they range from inexpensive to expensive.
