If there's a desire to not reprint relic ingredients.

Why is there a desire not to reprint relic ingredients? Appropriately spread out that just helps new players...

Are you referring to the tokens that accompany a relic in the legendary transmute? because the relic transmutes expire. There's no reason not to reprint those, from what I can see.

+1. QFT

do people still say that?

Sorry - yes - the +2 Sacred Sling is an ingredient in Legendary Io's Ultra Keen Longbow.

As far as I know, a UR that is an ingredient in Legendary has never been reprinted.

That seems like a VERY bad reason to suggest not reprinting an UR token.

It's EXTREMELY corner case and has NOTHING to do with the token itself.

I would love to get completely away from reprinting restrictions that have anything to do with third party after market resale value. It's a risk that tokens can be reprinted, that's not a reason to not reprint a token

I didn't take it as a market value argument. Notice above the suggestion to reprint a functionally equivalent token.

As a new player, I'd like the opportunity to get Oranges without spending $1k+ or finding a $500 relic to transmute up, but I can see TD not wanting to open the can of worms of "well you reprinted X, how about you let me transmute it in to relic Y".

I agree entirely, but if we must avoid a supply of new URs to turn relics into legendaries it is a fairly easy problem to solve.

Ex: I really want a +2 Deadly Drow Blood Mace (eventually to pair with all the regen tokens I can find), but a lot of them were turned into death cleavers. The reprint could be +2 Blood Mace, which could have the same effect without triggering the recipe for a death cleaver.

The +2 Sacred Sling could be reprinted as a +2 Sling of Holy Wrath - it doesn't have quite the same ring to it name wise, but otherwise it could be the same token.

Well for what it's worth you'll find that EVERY legendary requires at least $1000 in raw materials to craft.

Relic recipes have ALWAYS been year limited. There are some that are very hard to find and are trending into the $500+ range. Most are standing near the $350 range.

That being said the crafting cost of a Relic is generally $400+ in raw materials to craft as well. So having a Relic available to reprint isn't going to save you any money. That's just what they cost in general due to the value of the items used to make them

I get that, but some of that raw material costs come down from treasure pulls, trades, and trade good transmutes and we can build up over multiple years.

We're getting off topic. Endgame has made his case for the Sling of Another Name. And I hereby apologize for dragging us down the transmute reprint side path. If we want to discuss further, please create a side topic.

Yep.

You might want to save pieces to make an upcoming relic and offer it to swap for the relic you are looking for.

There's usually someone willing to make a swap if it's not a STUPIDLY hard to find relic

Earcuff of Orbitz seems unlikely having an existing slot expanding earcuff available as a PYP

Cloak of the Mage is straight up junk that no one really wants given it's current sale value of less than $100. Does not seem like reprint material. Maybe an update to +5 Dex +2 saves

Ioun Stone Garnet Cube was a Volunteer Recognition token, don't expect that to ever be reprinted

Mithral Gauntlets have been suggested, shot down and redesigned multiple times now. I think it's fair to say the design team feels it was too powerful and do not want to reprint it

Definitely +1 to
+2 Staff of Power
Mad Evoker's Charm
Dougal's Cloak of the Stars
Ioun Stone Topaz Trilliant
Nightshade’s +2 Short Sword

Suggested a new Figurine of Power: Whispering Winds with the spirit bowl effect but no class restrictions to give a more usable reprint over in the UR thread
