Grand scheme, the Rogue's role is the only class that is beneficial to puzzle rooms, and the class overall should be in the damage range of the cleric / bard, NOT Monk and Ranger..

Thematically rogues are usually top dps in games, MMO wise I don’t know about dnd wise even with a multitude of tricks.

Nightshade's +2 Short Sword (with Raphael's 17+ crit on sneak and 2x sneak per round there is a large gap between melee Rogues with and without this token)

Rare:
+1 Dagger of the Sun (+3 vs Undead!)
+1 Dwarven Battle Axe (Or a similar token if there will be no Giants)
+1 Dwarven Throwing Hammer (Or a similar token if there will be no Giants)
Dagger of Arcane Luck (or similar token opened to more classes and letting only Wizards reslide)
Dwarven Half Plate
Greater Holy Symbol or Holy Symbol of Pelor
Potion Dwarven Mead (Only if one or more of these effects will occur)
Ring of Brilliance

Uncommon:
Dwarven Sling (Or a similar token if there will be no Giants)

For 1-2 hits per room. Updating Nerfing the rogue's BiS range weapon seems like a convo for another thread.

And can't the druid also get the puzzlebox clue?

The Monk and Ranger that I run with regularly do much more damage than that and aren't reliant on a sneak attack to do it.

Doing that kind of damage requires an investment in a lot of ranged damage enhancing tokens, the ability to crit on demand (made easier if you have the Legendary, sure) and it has to happen on the sneak attack.

I have found that the usefulness of the rogue box clue varies widely from room to room and I don't feel it's justification enough to classify the Rogue as a support class.

The link you posted didn't work for me. I'd like to read it. I'd also be interested in seeing the numbers for Rogues at varying levels of token collection, starting with just 1 PYP (the crossbow) and up.

The main thing for me, is that last year was the first year that sliding as the group's Rogue felt like it actually made a difference. I don't want that to go away after investing in it.
