Add a slot, but add modifier caps. Ex: add pouch slot, but cap modifiers like +spell damage at +20.

Please think about how TD will look in 20 years when suggesting these things. We don’t want 20 new slots by 2040.


+1. Too soon for another slot. Also cap the slotless at some max and call them "Gear". To expand character power make another level above legendary.

Piggybacking off of this idea, with the advent of virtual True Dungeon, it would be easy for TD to implement Virtual Fight Night/Weekends, say 8 slots, single elim PVP, where players are only allowed Rares or lower (or potentially different "weight classes") with rewards based on standings (5-8th, 3-4th, 2nd, 1st). I initially thought of using Rares or lower as that would broaden the player base that's able to compete to enable TD to generate revenue without additional cost/creative input.

I've only been hooked on TD for a year now, so it's possible something like this has been tried before in TD's history, but I'm not aware.

I like the idea of gear. Include all non-slot specific tokens in figuring the max. This includes slotless, potions, mushrooms, scrolls, wands, etc.

Another level above legendary if difficulty is scaled up to make challenging and not too limited because of ability to make above legendary

Didnt the discussion of pet tokens in essence result in figurines of power a few years back?

I'm also agaisnt a tattoo slot but in favor of more totem paints . Once something becomes a permanent slot there is a certain feeling of obligation to put something in that slot, and tattoos represent an aesthetic choice for a character that not everyone may like. I guess it just crosses a line (for me at least) in terms of being part of you character rather then something they just use.

There is currently a limit to 1 totem paint at a time.

Another brainstorm on slot....what if we had a slot for voice...at first I thought new token idea, but really having it not be slotless would be desirable.

Voice carries so many different abilities behind it (pun intended)

For example,
Merry band of adventurers:tenor
Merry band of adventurers: bass
Merry band of adventurers: soprano
Merry band of adventurers: alto
...if bard is playing an instrument, for all in party who jump into the song, add +1 to hit for each different voice type
...good for room, max +4 to hit for all members “singing” if all voice types are present.
...use once per game

...if you have 2 of one voice type (e.g.two tenors) that is only +1
...creates community in game and an element of decision on how many voice types and who will sing...


Other voices...
Voice of command
...once per game, ignore initiative and do your action before all other actions

Voice of reasoning
...once per game, open the rogue box to take only the clue

Voice of persuasion
...once per game, prevent the monster from attacking this round

Voice of intimidation
...Once per game increase party AC +1

Voice of wrath
...Once per game increase personal damage +5 for this combat

Voice of wit
...allows once per game to taunt before the monster’s attack roll

Voice of distraction
...allows once per game to taunt after the monster’s attack roll But before damage applied

Voice of soothing
...once per game, allows +1 healing for entire team in one room on all spells/scrolls/potions
...cannot be used during combat

Voice of encouragement
...Once per game, add +1 initiative per team member using

Cry of terror
...once per game, do 3 points of sonic damage as a free action.
Now...my thought is “once per game” for all voices and then a checkbox on the party card to keep people honest OR, voice trinkets that are turned in so each party member gets one...

I thought about them being consumable, but some of these voice powers could be quite a play and make them rise up in authority. Perhaps using some “common/uncommon/rare” and transmuting them into relic voices. This could be “learning the voice”

Of course shout out to Dune universe for “the voice” and the weirding way

I like the thought of this but I feel like it steps on all of the different abilities of the character classes and makes them available to everyone.

That is one way of thinking, alternatively it can be an introduction to a power of another class that allows for one to dabble in it and then go forward with a whole new build...for example playing the Dwarf fighter and joining in with that bass voice to add to the group’s ability may be just enough of an inception to cause the player to pursue a bard build.

I like the idea of a voice, it sort of feels like a feat to me, which could of course he a different way of making a new slot.

I stand by my previous statement that we should not add a new slot this year, unless it is to restrict tokens that are currently slotless, like tomes, horns, pouches, etc.
