The bead is a “much weaker slot” so I actually thought it was fine being different rarities and same values.

+1 Adventurer's Staff: 4.83 Average damage. Staves are usually not usable by Bard and Rogue. Other Staves that Wizards can use cap at 4.5 average damage, so this is an increase.

+1 Assassin's Blade: 4.17 Average damage. Class usage matches +1 Iron Nettle. +1 Iron Nettle did 4.5 average damage, with bonus +3 damage to fey.

+1 Bastard Sword: Reprint. 6.3 Average damage. BIS is +1 Bliss Heavy Axe at 6.63 and +3 damage in Bliss.

+1 Claymore: 7.2 Average damage. New BIS over +1 Nether Dire Flail's 6.7 average damage.

+1 Blood Mace: 5.5 Average damage. +1 Drow Blood Mace only did 5.13 damage, so this is an increase with this effect.

+1 Short Bow: Removed for the +2 Holy Arrow.

+1 Short Sword: Reprint. 4.5 Average damage. +1 Bliss Hammer is usable by all, does 5.5 average damage and +3 damage in Bliss.

+1 Large Wooden Shield: This is the first +3 AC shield for Druids at rare or lower. Should they be removed?

+2 Holy Arrow: 20 extra damage seems like a lot.

The decrease in damage from Iron Nettle should be OK. Iron Nettle did not allow for 1st round sneak attacks or Flurry of Blows. This gives players options to either deal more damage if they use a different slot for Sneak attack. This is a pure upgrade to the +1 Cestus, by .67 damage. I think we need a FoB compatible 1H, non bracer weapon given the age of the Cestus, though.

Nether dire flail has a special effect on 20. Not terribly likely to trigger, but at least you're trading more damage for no effect. Given that 2H weapons have traditionally been lagging a bit, I think this is OK.

The Damage wheel could probably be set to match the +1 Drow Blood Mace. I would have no complaints to that.

Will always be a problem. Either all future weapons will need to be buffed to match the bliss hammer, or will need some kind of effect to justify the lower damage wheel, or will just need to ignore the Bliss Hammer for balancing rares.

the 20 damage is on a 20 slide. I don't think this is a huge issue, and if it encourages use of the arrow I don't have a complaint.

Ya I missed that the first time, I think it’s fine since they need to hit a 20 to make it work. It’s probably there to encourage people to use ammunition.

Yup, i feel like this is the elephant in the room. I know it was a misprint, and TPTB probably made the right decision, but it'll be haunting us forever. While I like that the Bliss Hammer can be useable by everyone, if it continues to be the BiS, then we lose a lot of the theme from our builds. Backstabbing with a hammer? Cheesy! Offhand Ranger weapon? Cheesy!

Yeah...the Blood Mace is already a thing, and it allowed for those two classes. Good point, though.

Alright So I feel like this might just be petty or a little silly but does anyone else feel like the heavy mail image looks like a sexist female designed armor?

It is very suggestive for what's supposed to be "heavy" mail.

It does look shapely but to truly be sexist armor it would have to have all the mail pieces replaced with no material the whole "How the hell does this chain mail bikini protect me?" kinda thing.

The UC armors are shapely - and the Sylvan one, with its black neck and black cups suggests a sense of nudity - but this armor is supposed to be "Heavy" mail, which to me suggests plate, while this one has the needless "bikini" thrown on top like it's Vampirella - and I like Vampirella - but this is definitely a weird look for "Heavy" mail.

I mean, there's more there than any other chainmail, but it suggests bikini model.

Compare to the UR "Light" mail, which looks more protective.
