Necklace of Geegaws - Neck - All
+2 charm and +1 ioun slot

(Or maybe +1 charm and +2 ioun, or maybe +1 charm, ear, and ioun slot?)

- Bag of Holding: Allows you to choose 1 of the following effects: Allows use of two figurines/ extra Charm/ Ioun Stone

- Jesters Card Deck: Random effect comes out based on a chart used 1/per adventure. Done in the combat room so it can throw the scenario in a mischievous direction that can either way.

- Familiars for Wizards (Depending the Type can add to stats for Defense or Offense.)

Proposal - put the brakes on Melee (which picked up Kilt of Barrelbane/Dungeonbane and Ioun Stone Infernal Fire Prism last year).

For a few years only print UR melee boosters in slots that already have them and are not multi-slots. This still leave us with the: Head, Eyes, Neck, Torso, Shirt, Wrists, Hands, Feet and Waist slots for melee boosters - which leaves plenty of flexibility without compounding the problem. Given the Ring situation you could probably print new ones at Ring too without contributing meaningfully to creep.

If there _must_ be new melee boosters that increase the melee effectiveness cap, consider making it benefit either only those who equip a shield, or only two handed melee weapons, to allow the non-ranger/monk classes to catch up some.

Come on - we can do it! Let this be the first year since 2010 that melee damage cap doesn't rise!

I also like the idea of taking some of the unslotted items and giving them slots. Next year's Tome slot is a good example. I'd add horn to that slot list as well.

I think it would be cool if every stat had a figurine of power/charisma like slot.

Str: Horns
Dex: Quivers/Sheaths/Tools (it could be a pouch Item slot)
Int: Books
Char: FoP
Wis: Holy Symbols (make some not specific to Clerics)

I think Wis will be beads eventually.

Also, I would like to see something that requires charisma to be useful in game. Maybe a bluff ability, or combat feint?
Could only be used on certain monsters, or offer a save (though monster saves are often ridiculous on the highest levels).
I don't want to slow down combat, but making these stats more important might give us some build variation.

I forgot about the bead slot, but that would be perfect.

But a charismatic based Charm Person/Monster ability for a 5 lvl bard only useful on humanoids (4th lvl) all monsters (5th lvl) be both hilarious and terrifying.

So long as INT // CHA have uses beyond just threshold slot and token enablers, I think it would be cool. STR // DEX // CON all give very tangible benefits for using them, and while WIS stacking was mainly a Thing to enable lenses IIRC, it did contribute to saves.

I think that a token to boost Ammo would be great. Something like:

Charm of Arrow Splitting
Consumable ammo is treated like Wands (place 1 on table, use for rest of room).

More cabal set items so we can get that sweet, sweet cabal set bonus without having to equip such crummy tokens ;).

Possibilities:

Lenses/Ring/Earcuff of the cabal: +2 spell and healing damage
Ioun Stone of the Cabal: +2 to Scroll and Wand damage and healing
Crown of the Cabal: May re-cast a spell from the character card (1/game)

I love the idea of expanding the cabal set, or revising it.

that said, the Ioun stone is strictly better than Flourite Cube, by a wide margin. I could get behind scrolls and wands again,, but just to be aware of it.

the focus item feels like too much too.

Crown seems very close to crown of expertise, which was just printed.

IS of the Cabal would still be weak, as it's a slotted item that boosts consumables. In recent years we've had slotless items boost consumable damage and ISs boost non-consumable damage. Flourite Cube is in a bad spot in light of that: stapling scrolls to it doesn't make it any better.

(Yes, I'm still salty as hell about it.)

That being said, I love the idea behind the Cabal set and would love to see another variant of it.

I don't believe we should anchor off the Ioun Stone Fluorite Cube for wand boosting power levels, as it was designed in a year where wands were not consumable. Future UR wand boosters must be more powerful to compensate for the effect of wands being consumable again.

There are already Rare +1 Lenses of Focus, and an uncommon +1 spell damage earcuff, and the +1 UR Ring of Focus is massively underpowered. +2 "of focus" at UR seems the minimum to me. Maybe also it being cabal puts it over the edge.

Crown is indeed just a worse Crown of Expertise that happens to be a cabal set item.
