I know some people that were planning to do N2 and N3 at origins. Could the “TD Lite” event be basically one of these dungeons so that people could still get the experience that could only go to one con a year.

I wish we could...but we really can't. I wish there was some way for those disappointed folks to get that XP. Maybe we can do some kind of credit for volunteering or something. I will think about it. And it would only be open to folks that played N1.

That makes since, but it was worth asking.

So, to double-check: when you say "TD Lite", that's pretty much something along the lines of the Viper's Pit?

Probably...we gotta see how many volunteers we get before we can announce anything. It is scary to announce details until we have a good idea that we have enough volunteers to make it happen.

Never an easy day for you anymore Jeff? Or is this more a case of put the expanded team to work finding options?
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

I like the change to align up the Con so there isn't as much of a split.

I want to say Thank you to Jeff as we all know he did this to help TD and even though it causes some growing pains it will help TD to grow!

I guess PAX South for me and the wife will be a fun time to replay what ever dungeons comes it way (2 or all 3 of the events).

Separate from the rest of the discussion, it might be kinda cool if the "TD Lite" was a sort of highlight reel of the N-Series... Maybe have them cross the Rainbow bridge between Coaching and Training, receive Training from a Valkyrie, fight one Giant and rescue the prisoner, do a couple of the more unique puzzles, etc.

Maybe each year at Origins, the TD light could be a remix of the best of the preceding season's series, so you could re-use a few of the props and costumes (maybe not the harder to wear ones), you wouldn't have to create anything whole cloth, or drag out/recreate a whole other dungeon (though as someone who only started with the Moongate Maze, I do love the idea of bringing back old ones too), it wouldn't be as attractive to veterans so they wouldn't compete for the tickets, etc.
I came here to sing and collect tokens, and I'm alllll out of money.

Neat idea. Currently there is not much competion for tickets at Origins, yet though.

I was thinking of the throwback dungeon from GenCon as the reference point. What exactly that would look like at Origins I dunno.

Anything 2009 or earlier. I could use the XP. ;)

There was a 6 person retro dungeon using the old school character cards and sliders the first year we were at WYC. It was brutal.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

This is a great Idea,
The Rainbow Bridge is awesome,
And needs more Heat,
If we are done with it,
Let’s keep it
to cross to the Training Room.

Yeah I know you just said there wouldn't be much completion from Vets to get tickets. I was just pointing out there isn't much competition for any tickets at Origins....yet.

There was a lot more vet interest in Viper than I anticipated. But maybe that’s just me.

1) lots of people might have joined after its first go-round
2) for vets who do many runs, it'd be a change of pace either way.

I would've loved to have played it, and if I can, I'll play any throwback. Which is why I thought making the "Lite" out of recently experienced pieces (plus no/less/non-stackable XP, minimal Pulls, etc) would leave it to the newbs.
