If anyone is looking for 2018 monster but sets, please reach out to me. I have about 20 sets more than I need.

Also, I didnt think of what you both said and I agree, everyone could be upset about something if they feel like it.

Either way, I'm behind jeff on this one.

I know some people that were planning to do N2 and N3 at origins. Could the “TD Lite” event be basically one of these dungeons so that people could still get the experience that could only go to one con a year.

Betting more than a couple folks planned on doing Origins for N2/N3 (including some volunteers) as that was the 'known' information at the time. I was fortunate to get those runs with my vol schedule but i'm sure others weren't or just figured wait till Origins.

I like the proposed changes just rather have given notice that starting next year this is the way as i'm not the only one who figures what cons they go to a year in advance.

The '18/'19 treasure redemption doesn't bother me but may give a leg up to those who desire more of the '19 bits for the bead a little quicker.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Ian Lee wrote: If anything, not having access to 2018 treasure for the monster bits is the only thing that would be "cheating" someone when it comes to treasure. I was more interested in 2018 treasure draws than 2019 as I transmuted a lot of uncommons and rares that I wouldn't mind having more copies of, but I also just don't care in the grand scheme of things. For one thing, uncommons and rares have minimal value and I'm sure if I tried real soft I could find some in bulk.

It's far more of a loss that 2018 dungeons ended with PAX than whether someone gets monster bits from 2018 or 2019. Well, IMO. I just don't get how this is a factor in deciding which dungeons to run at Origins as it's so trivial in practice.

I’ll cheerfully trade some 2018 bits for 2019 bits.

Ever since the Bead recipe was announced, I’ve thought it would result in a glut of 2016-18 bits. When people realized they need 50% more 2019s they’re likely to lower their sights and make fewer beads, and thus need fewer of the older bits.

Paradoxically, increasing demand for this year’s could result in an oversupply of the old ones, driving down Fleece prices again. And that negates part of why we went from four to six. Ironic.

I don’t know if that’s why Wade has extra bits, but I know I’m going to be selling some I wasn’t planning to.

I wasnt planning on going to PAX at first. Then I did.

If anyone is trading 2016 and 2017 bits for 2018 or 2019, please let me know.

If you're making fleece from 2016 or 2017, please let me know.

While i was hoping to get another run or two of N3, i never would have relied on an event 10 months after gencon for my only run.
This is why the new schedule makes me very happy, long term; i can plan for both origins and gencon runs the same summer. So, gencon becomes less stressful as i dont have to solve for some crazy schedule that works for everyone (ie. DDA, wife&friend work schedule, and kids).

It was very reasonable to expect N2 and N3 at origins this year based on all the information we had. And I understand the changes and largely support the changes. I have some friends very disappointed by this news since Origins was the only TD con they were going to this year.
I would simply like TD to consider doing a version of N2 or N3 as the TD Lite dungeon at Origins to help out the players missing out on these Dungeons all together.
Also it is disappointing for some of the same people that they will miss the last part of every adventure unless they go a second convention every year.

I wish we could...but we really can't. I wish there was some way for those disappointed folks to get that XP. Maybe we can do some kind of credit for volunteering or something. I will think about it. And it would only be open to folks that played N1.

So, to double-check: when you say "TD Lite", that's pretty much something along the lines of the Viper's Pit?

Probably...we gotta see how many volunteers we get before we can announce anything. It is scary to announce details until we have a good idea that we have enough volunteers to make it happen.
