I remember potion workshop room from last year was 10-15 degrees hotter with the fake roof overhead, I had to stand under the small section that was open to feel any air moving, as the A/C is being pumped down and this would make each room sealed curtain boxes with 11 people inside.

Ya but the room looked soooooo good.

At Origins, the covered rooms in N1 were definitely ovens, but at GenCon, this seemed much less noticeable to me. Does that match what others experienced?

Assuming that wasn't my imagination, I wonder if the air conditioning at GenCon was just better? Or if something else was different between the two setups?

I think the tavern roof was black cloth with wooden beams. The roof in N1 looked to be some manor or reflective plastic mirror. I suspect the mirror sky trapped more heat then the cloth allowed to flow through.

At least we had some air conditioning this year at Origins. Remember last year where we basically had open bay doors due to construction and no air conditioning?

Likely due to different space and a better venue in general and no it wasn't your imagination. I also wonder if it was due to how close we had a lot of the electrical (I was local install for Origins) with the projectors contributing to the heat.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven
