Hah yeah. Even if the process works smoothly (don't have high hopes), people will be confused by it because it's new, so it'll be a mess.

Here is my suggestion for the process. Scan your badge to get 10 (or however many) wristbands and packs. You can distribute those to your party whenever/however you want. In the coaching room, outside the coaching room, doesn't matter. Then, there is a separate station where each person must turn in a waiver to get a hand stamp. (No ticket or wristband required here.) Someone at the entrance of the storyscape will check hand stamps and only let you in if you have one. I think this resolves the issues?

Is there any way TD can put the waiver online so we can print them out in advance and have our groups fill them out and sign them so those of us leading groups can scan our badges, provide the waivers, and pick up the wristbands and go directly to the training room?

I've often wished that we could get the waiver form online.

If only we could have our signed waiver on file and once we've electronically signed it, never have to do it again unless the waiver changes.

This would save a TON of paper and pens and time. Then you could show on your phone that you have signed the waiver.

I know last year at GenCon the build crew was able to sign the waivers online ahead of time. But it is a little easier in that situation for TD to have certainty around whether the signed waivers match the people.

For the waivers on the runs, I think they are still worried about potential loopholes where the evidence that you present of having a signed waiver is actually evidence of someone else signing the waiver, rather than yourself. Even if they electronically tied it to your badge it would be an imperfect match, since you can be wearing someone else's badge.

Or at least that is my layman's understanding of why this isn't easy to solve. Could be completely wrong.

8000 waivers per Con, per year going forward. Presumably retained until the statute of limitations runs for that year. That's a hell of a lot of paper to store and manage.

And in Wisconsin, the waiver may not be all that effective anyway.

That would be great if GC implemented an electronic signature system. They could scan your badge to check too. I kind of doubt that will happen though.

This would be very helpful. We could have them for full groups, ready to go.

Has anyone figured out how to electronically transfer tickets yet?

From a posting on the convention website, this capability does not yet exist.

When it does, or if it does, I would be interested in whether it allows 1 to 10 tickets for a single event to be be transferred from one person to another person.

What if waivers were collected as players enter training?

When players check-in, give them a waiver with the wristbands and tokens. They can sign it any time before training.

This could allow one person to check in for all 10 tickets, get all the wristbands, tokens, and waivers to hand out as they like. You avoid having purchasers standing around at check in waiting for peiple to show up. Or worse, waiting for their friend who is running late...it is then the purchasers responsibilty to get that wristband on a player or ghost it, no need for TD staff to worry about it. Also, turning in the waiver in training guarantees the person going on the run has turned one in.

Without handing wristbands out, how will TD deal with the late friend situation? Maybe e-tickets can be the catalyst to greatly improve this scenario, rather than let it become even worse than regular tickets.
this is not a signature.
