TOPIC: Did you go to PAX South and how was it?

Did you go to PAX South and how was it? 6 years 2 months ago #13

I volunteered full time in the Coaching room and had a great time. The volunteer schedule allowed me to see some on the con, but not all of course. Still had time for one normal run, the dealer hall, and a couple of night concerts.

The TD players were mostly new, but it made coaching fun. Filling out the party card is less complex, but I spent more time answering questions about tokens and facilitating trades to make sure everybody would have fun.

I definitely plan on volunteering again at PAX South. It also allows me to focus on playing at Gen Con, while still getting my volunteer time in for the year.

That sounds cool! I always find coaching new players to be the most fun. They are token light, and are very enthusiastic. I love answering questions about ammo, and treasure, getting the spell casters up to speed on their spells and abilities. It gives you more time to really pump up the players for the awesomeness that is TD. When I was new, I really needed the one on one time. Its fantastic to be able to do it as a coach now.

Is there a date for PAX South next year? Will TD be back?

No dates set, there are people speculating on when that will be announced.

And seeing as TD sold out at PAX South, I doubt they would not come back barring any major developments. The actors in the first room broke character after our druid did a headstand to gain favor in a panda onezie and seemed to really excited at the reception the event got. And the treasure puller at the end told us that they had enough room to get both dungeons in the ballroom, they just need more volunteers. So they seem to have plans to be back.

I volunteered and I am pretty sure Volunteers are the limiting factor for this con.

I'd put my money on there being TD at pax 2019

Space is abundant. I wouldn't be surprised to see more runs.
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!
