How will DMs, coaches and trainers deal with this?

If we're rolling for to-hit, it'd make a decent amount of sense to roll dice for damage.

It would certainly be simpler. Maybe. Would someone using a Drow sap and a +5 Deathcleaver use the same die? Or would the DM need a different die based on what weapon each person was using? (Can’t see that working)

Or maybe there is no roll at all, but a standard amount of damage that gets calculated in coaching based on your weapon? Perhaps the coach could add the “middle” number on the damage wheel into the damage box on the party card along with Strength bonus.

I'm neutral on the idea of voice vs audio. As a tech geek i'd do with audio as it's simpler and less bandwidth sensitive. That said the volunteer coach in me likes the video for verifying tokens and general hey lets meet the party at least before the run.

Can we build in some extra coaching time to help groups get to know each other?

I'll do a run regardless just to support Jeff and Co. Most of my regular group said they'd be in pending on the discount as they want their xp and loot. I don't blame them in this regard as it will be a lesser but hopefully still cool experience/event. If my group doesn't buy out a run i'll hopefully join a group via the forums.

For some cost will dictate how forgiving they are of mistakes and issues. I know with others that has tickets gone up in price some have gotten more picky on 'their' class selection.

Not adverse to the idea of hey it's a flat XP for all difficulties/attendees. Helps lessen potentially feel bad for those of us who count on XP and would hate to loose out on XP due to some potential IT or other glitch.

Do like the idea of default builds of tokens vs mailing out packs ahead of con. Just send it to me with the loot or as an option skip it if it'll mean a cheaper ticket price.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

I wonder if it might be helpful to have a play test with less experienced/newbie players.

1) Avoiding over-talking.
2) Seeing your party in-person. In TD, face-to-face comeradere is important and having this will set TD apart from other types of "online" games that use avatars and such.

I agree with this. I'd love video but if it interferes with the experience "in" the room or with bandwidth issues, then i would go audio only.

If 3rd level qualifies as “less experienced”, I volunteer!

I am in no way official, or necessarily all that influential. So don’t get your hopes up.
