Until we give the Fighter more, I'm going to keep pushing back against new ways to give this to other classes.

Fighters could reslide twice XD That said the actual abilities don't matter so much(Im sure those would be heavily work shopped) as the concept
Semper Gumby, Always flexible.

Sartre sits in in a coffee shop and asks for a coffee without cream. The barista apologizes “Sorry, we don't have any cream. Can I offer you a coffee without milk instead?”

If we do away with the elf Wizard and dwarf fighter classes, we would need to be sure to add 2 more classes back, so that every party of 10 dosen't consist of the same exact 10, as if we did, boy, the fights over classes. Having a couple left behind is definitely a good thing.

That's why when I suggest doing away with Dwarf and Elf, it comes along with "You want 10 Fighters? Go ahead. 5 Monks and 5 Rangers? Have at it!" ;)

Never worry about who gets to play which class again. :)

Yes, certain things would have to be figured out in order to make that work. I shouldn't hijack this thread further on that topic though.

My only problems with this are the parties of:
10 Bards all singing and stacking an absurd bonus.
5 Paladins and 5 Taunting Fighters all saying “No please, hit me!”
10 Rogues all saying “I want that Rogue box!”

That being said, I now think my preference for a cool level 10 reward is: “Can choose any character class, regardless of the choices of other party members.”
Maybe add that each Rogue can attempt the Rogue box, in reverse player level order. Maybe additionally add that Bardsong is a unique modifier?
And on the party card, the “second” of a class will be listed under a different class line for clarity’s sake, so the 10th level player will have to be competent enough to remember when DM says “the Barbarian takes...” they actually mean Rogue#2. And that will be on the veteran 10th level players to keep it straight.
I play Wizard.

Sounds like a nightmare for the coaching room, where things are already on a tight time crunch.

What about a badge holder that signaled to NPCs/sentient monsters that the character was the famous/infamous/world renowned X and would allow for different interactions with the party?
