Is this whole thing just based on Druegar's love for the movie "Field of Dreams", and he IS talking about that baseball field? That used to be a cornfield?

I am familiar with crop rotation as a concept, though not with the specifics. Which is why the cornfield in questions was chosen because it is only ever used as a corn field. Why doesn't this particular farmer rotate? You'd have to ask them.
