I now read the names and ignore the colors. Prefer all white sliders with black names on them.

I believe the yellow lights are being slowly replaced with white.

As for poor lighting in the room, I doubt that's going anywhere.

Iirc, the names are in black on white, with the band the only color thing. Are the names in color too?

People fumbling through them is interesting to see. Probably not feasible to have people carry sliders through the dungeon and return at the end.

You recall correctly. Names are all black text on a white background. You can see examples in the PHB on pages 20, 29, 30, and 35.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

Most definitely not feasible! We would very quickly run out of sliders because people would walk away with them--either unintentionally or otherwise.

Ok fine it’s over with,
I don’t see how Wizard

Clearly purple is the color of despair.

I argued for Purple for Wizard and Green for Elf Wizard

I speculate it may have had to do with the colors of print filament available but that's just speculation.

Per this post by MasterEd, these were the available colors. The closest thing to purple was violet. Maybe, and this is total speculation, maybe folks weren't thrilled about that shade of violet? 🤷‍♂️

I like it.
It’s purple enough.
I think it’s really nice.

Just noticed this in the phb.
Elf Wizard: Shocking Blue for the lightning they often cast
Wizard: Red for the fireballs they cast

Anyone find this really weird since wizards have lightning storm and elf wizards have fireball. Maybe someone else pointed this out previous and I completely missed it.

Maybe some changes are coming with character card redesign?

Though possible but I am pretty sure it has said that for some time.
