I think those who just achieved 5th level and don't have their token shouldn't complain about not getting the 6th level award for obvious reasons.

So we will have to show the 5th level medallion even though we may have the 7th level badge holder or the 8th level pin? Just checking to make sure I bring the Medallion and place along side the CoA in the training room.

no
only one proof is required
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

I believe I even saw that in the Coaching guide. Which maked me realize I have never seen a trainer guide. Do they just use parts of the DM guide or do they have a secret guide I have not seen?

just to verify..

In relation to the rules at the beginning of the thread, is the Medallion of Nobility considered a TE token then?

If you think of it as "soulbound" to its owner, I'm guessing functionality yes.

err.. not for lending obviously (at least I hope obviously)..

As in, it would need to be presented and inspected for authenticity, etc.

So, now that Origins has come and past. I've a question on TE 'checking'.

The scenario : Once again I'm doing a 'New Player' run at GenCon. I bought all the tickets, I'm outfitting them to whatever level they wish to play, [Currently about 1/2 the party is trying to convince the other 1/2 to go full on Nightmare .. bless their hearts.] at no cost to the players. My only stipulation is that they need to be a new player.

Here is my question :

Since it will be a party of new players, they will need some training. I'm doing a fair bit of expectation setting ahead of time, and communicating things that I have seen work in the past etc. But they will still need to slide, and puzzle, and memorize.

Obviously I'm outfitting the party's TE's. And while it can be strongly argued that *I* would benefit from several hours of training, I'm pretty sure that I'll never memorize those dumb beads. Is it safe to assume they can 'do their thing' and I can stand at the pedestal and do the TE check?

How did things work at Origins?

Thanks.

That is pretty much what I did at Origins.

I would tell the DM that whenever they wanted I had 10 sets of TE's for them to check. So they could train and when they were free I pulled out the 20+ tokens. A few folks needed to display their own 6th level proof since I don't have those except for me.

{puts on Coach Coordinator hat}
I have no problem with that.
If the trainer is not comfortable with it, just ask him/her to call for a CC.

I should note that at Origins at least there was not a pedestal. There might be one for GC I don't know. At Origins I just asked where they wanted me to pull the tokens out (I had to rephrase this twice because now I know Druegar is reading and I didn't want to set him up). :)

Lol Thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't be stepping on toes .. and more importantly .. that the new guys didn't have to waste time with something they didn't care about .. or understand.

As a side note. The last two new player runs I did each took weeks to fill up. This one took less than 24 hour. Word is certainly out there about TD. I've got a waiting list six deep .. I *almost* regret releasing that other run to the wild :P .. almost.
