TOPIC: XP for sale on Ebay??

I usually figure I've seen a lot..but I think this takes a bit of the cake (and hmm...hungry now).



There's also an auction for all 12 of the 5th level character cards.

Admitted, having a bit of a WTH in regards to both these.

Just an FYI - if the card was marked Not For Resale, eBay would take the auction down.

Good point, maybe an improvement for next year. Maybe mark both sides.

With XP being now player controlled does it really matter? Sure someone that didn't play this can say they did but someone that died in room 1 in normal can say they completed room 7 on nightmare.

It kind of sets a bad precident / reflects poorly on TD.

Agreed and although I have dozens of unused experience cards I thought it would be in bad taste to auction them. If something comes down from TPTB differently then so be it.

Im probably reporting it as a TOC violation either way.

Since it and the player cards have no bidd on them it appears most understand they are silly things to sell.

For the past few years I've understood that player experience points are based on an honor system. I've realized that there were probably people out there cheating the system and just kind of shrugged it off as they're mostly cheating themselves. But I have to admit it does annoy me when someone takes it to this level and is selling it on Ebay to people who may have never played the game. I guess I just don't get why it would even mean something to them to bid on it. But then I guess some people just feel that cheating the system is of itself a reward. Sigh.

Again no one has bid on it. I still don't see how it reflects badly on TD. I agree it does on the seller and any bidders, but I perfer to just laugh at them. But that is just me. It has no effect on me, my play experience, my purchasing or any of my group.

Strangely, the seller doesn't know enough about TD to promote which dungeon it's associated with - which would make a big difference to a potential buyer.

Someone tried to sell a 5th level card last year on eBay. I do not think it went well.
