TOPIC: Fred's Mary's Hands Auction Oct 21st - Nov 1st

This year has gone really well for production. We keep expanding production and increasing the number of sites we're able to deliver free organic produce.

Attached are some photos from what we've grown this year. Both the garlic and peppers have been amazingly productive.

Lastly, I'm moving up our auction a couple months since we can't do seed orders in January now. It looks like we'll be placing seed orders mid November or a good chunk of what we need will sell out. I'll provide updates on the new auction in the coming weeks. Thank you again for all your support!

Isabelle did a great job with growing from seed to starts so when we transplanted them into the field - they just took off. We're averaging something like 2-3 pounds of peppers per plant.

I also just figured out how to determine if an Anaheim pepper will be hot or not. If the walls of the pepper are thick, they will be very mild. As they get older after being fully grown, the outside walls of the pepper get thinner as it gets hotter. The older ones are definitely too hot for me to eat . Anything with bug bites, cracks, etc - we don't provide to the communities to reinforce that they aren't getting seconds. We eat those. I even bought an outside pepper roaster this year - absolutely yummy!

We just did an extra harvest of peppers for a pair of sites we don't normally have enough left over to help - over 70 pounds just of Anaheims. After that thinning, we're back to enough for the 4 sites we normally serve.
