TOPIC: Assembling an 8k order

Assembling an 8k order 2 years 10 months ago #1

Howdy folks! I was thinking of making a 1k token order, but figured I should look into seeing if enough other people were in the same boat that we might be able to rally and cobble together 8k to get all that extra swag. So far it seems that I have a four likely people (including myself), so I'm likely looking for 4 more people who expressed some interest in joining in.

Confirmed people:
Azzy- 1k
Dragon6483- 1k

Tentative:
Kaledor
Arcanist

Possibly interested. Are you planning Condensed or Super Condensed? Is there a plan for divvying up the extras? Are any particular "slices" of the extras spoken for?

I'd mostly have my eye on the Wish Ring. Not much use for an extra Dragon Orb, AG memberships, Patron access, etc

Possibly interested. Would need to know how all the extras are being split up.

Interested. Depends on split and finances.

Edit: Nope. Finances say I don't need the trade goods or rares/uncommons. Good luck!

I was thinking something along the lines of: with guaranteed items beyond what is just included in a 1k order, everyone messages the organizer the maximum amount they're willing to pay for each of those items and the highest for each gets that item, with that amount being split evenly between the 8 people involved. Then, do that once more when the tokens arrive with the 9/10 URs and potential GT (Essentially the idea is that, rather than one person paying $500-ish to get 9/10 random URs and 0/1 GT, it ends up being distributed between all the group).

-it's a pretty preliminary idea that sounded good in my head, so please tell me if it seems to have any problems.

Traditional has been condensed only, the uncommon and rare bags ziptied from TDHQ, shipped undisturbed to the buyers with their standard 1k items. Any bonus pieces over the standard 1k pieces are bartered off or sold off.

You'll lose a LOT of interest on combining an 8k order if you are being stripped of your bonus UR tokens (which are part of the 1k direct) and your chance at a golden ticket.

I forgot to mention- the intention was to do condensed, with divvying up extras and randoms as mentioned in my post before this.

No one is being stripped of anything- there is a total of $8k going into this and everything is staying inside the group. The main difference is that rather than 8 people individually hoping they are the one who gets a lucky roll, we collectively roll 8 times and equally share in any good rolls (Not to mention Jeff also hands the second group an extra dragon orb, patron code and wish ring to share between them while the first group gets nothing extra).

I would not be interested in any splitting of an order where someone was going to search my rares and uncommons bag, remove my random UR token that is guaranteed in my 1k order and ask me to bid for it.

I would doubly so not be interested in any splitting where my bag could pull a golden ticket, it would be removed and I would be asked to purchase it from the group.

If it's not actually 100% the same to me as buying a 1k order on my own with a slight boost in the added 8k benefit items I would have zero interest in joining a split

I completely understand. Gambling is just one of those things people love, even if it involves paying slightly more for things. The main intent here is to find those people who are fine with dropping some of the random chance in favor of getting things at an overall modest discount.

This works for me because, as I stand, If get a 1k myself, I’m not even guaranteed a single random UR, since the range is from 0-2. I have zero interest in even a cheap dragonorb. The URs could be something I want. If they are, I can bid, otherwise I get a 1k for less than 1k or luck into the randoms I’m interested enough in to bid and win and possibly be offset where I control the URs I’m putting in on. I also have a better chance of being in the running for a GT or an even cheaper 1k if I don’t win the bid. I love to gamble, but I also like this set up (which is possibly tied to the fact that it’s how our group does stuff when we pool treasure pulls). Thankfully, participation is 100% voluntary and things are above board.

There's 120 10-packs, so that should be a range of 1-2.

Not so much.

Note: All Golden Ticket tokens have been released into the wild, so any orders placed after May, 3rd, 2021 will NOT have a chance to receive a random Golden Ticket token. - truedungeon.com/store
