As to one thread vs. many, I generally like one thread per subject. So, updates to a store = update the thread. New information like a survey = new thread. For me, this is because:
-I like to see the first post without jumping back dozens of pages
-Subject lines/titles are very important to my ability to scan
-An update to an existing thread often does not register as "new information", at least to me

That said, the TD forums seem to be much more permissive than most in regards to changes to the title of a thread. So, as long as the thread title itself gets updated, it has mostly the same effect.

I'm ok with multiple threads. To be honest I tend to glaze over a lot of the store threads since I expect most posts on them to amount to bumps.
