With the whetstone, does a single whetstone affect all of the rare weapons one might have equipped?

If the monk is dual wielding red weps and has a mighty sling in his range, do they all get the +1, or do you have to pick?

Also, I assume the +1 will simply be recorded on the party card correct?

My apologies if this has already been answered a million times.

No worries...it affects all weapons.

Refresh your cache for a few tweaks to the URs.

I have been working on the printing plates all weekend, and I am about done. It is a crazy amount of work, but it is good to be done! Time to go for a visit. After a few folks take a look at the printing plate artwork, I am sending them off...and then it is on to writing the first 2019 module!

I hope y'all had a great weekend.

That Fire Prism is gorgeous. Thanks for upgrading the art on that one.

Nice to see the Crossbow is magical.

Footballs back, and tokens are almost ready to go. What a time to be alive!

So, fire replaces frost in a year where we will probably see a lot of fire resistance.

Hmmm

The image looks great!

I would suppose switching iron will and fire resistance images if you were so inclined.

Okay, if it affects all weapons, I have much less of a problem with the cost. I wasn't aware of that. Getting a "free" +1 Mighty Sling is pretty good.

I like the Fire Prism change, that is pretty awesome! As Wayne mentioned it may be null and void in a year of Fire creatures.

Hi Jeff,

Since the Clerics were hit pretty hard with the Lenses of Divine Sight, I wonder if it's necessary to limit the splitting to two targets, or if it would be OK to just say "multiple" targets. That shouldn't be game breaking since it wouldn't be adding any healing, but it would give the Cleric some added flexibility if they wanted to divide it among more than two players.

Thanks!
Mike

Would only clerics be able to do that? Or druids too?

It is not a good idea to substantially change a tokens functionality within hours of them going to the printers before the implications can be considered and discussed.

If such a token is desirable and balanced, I'd suggest advocating for it in 2020 or beyond.

Do we think the whetstone would apply to rare polymorph potions?

I wouldn't think so, though of course I have no idea.

Or to blunt weapons? How are you going to sharpen that big wooden club?

On the other hand, realism and complexity can be a fools errand in a fantasy game. I remember the first time I saw the chart in the 1st Edition DMG listing modifiers for various weapon types against various armor types. That never got applied in any of my campaigns. "Oh crap, another chart to consult in middle of combat."

Please don't accidentally screw over rare-weaponed Clerics by trying to say the whetstone only works on pointy weapons.

A blunt weapon can still get nicks and burrs, and a whetstone can be used to help clean and flatten them, where-in this one imparts its magic.

Because for a "can't draw blood cleric" the last thing you want is sharp edge from where you blocked that sword, tearing the next opponent's skin.

They say that the best weapon is the one you never have to use. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to use once! Oh - and if you really need to think about whether you're going to use the fireball or the + umpty staff of butt-whooping - you're likely to find yourself full of arrows, or fangs, or nasty knives & swords and such. Don't think - just shoot!
