Are you sure? I thought we had a thread about whether a ranger could just slide 1 weapon or not. I thought the answer was no, but I am having trouble finding the thread.

I agree Melee - we are sliding Ranged with a 1 handed sling.

I am just saying they wouldn't be sliding Melee and the token wouldn't help them but if they want to do that, so be it.

This item occupies two slots: ranged offhand and melee offhand.

Equipping it in ranged offhand only is not an option.

A ranger must equip a weapon in their melee offhand during coaching - ergo they may not equip this item in either ranger or melee offhand.

If they want to put it in their backpack to use in grind to some purpose - let them at it!

But coaches and character builders should not permit this item to be “equipped” in any configuration other than both melee offhand and ranged offhand.

The quote you link to comes from 2016. Both the DMG (updated in 2017) and PHB (updated this year) go against that quote. So it is interesting whether the updates never made it to the documents, or if there was a later decision that led to the current wording in the DMG and PHB. You're right, wait for Jeff to clarify.

But my hope is that the clarification says Rangers cannot use this. That reduces the chance of the sleaze we're talking about.

I have no stake in this one. I just remembered we discussed it. That is what I found. I don't know what it is supposed to be. I just think we should be consistent in whatever it is.

Everything looks great to me Jeff. Nice weapon options. I like Charm of Quick Strike and will probably equip it. I completely agree with the Cloak of Shadowskin changes as the old version was just insanely too powerful. Hat of the Hellway isn't very good but for classes that don't have good head options I think it is still a decent choice, and also as a transmute ingredient apparently.

I hate the latest version of the STR kilt.

I was ok with it as a +6str -3con -3dex

Would have felt it more balanced at +4Str -2con -2 dex

+6str -4con -4dex seems a bit extreme, but the STR players will not be complaining about the Eldritch kilt.

I'm just hoping we can get the Str kilt & eldritched kilt images switched. The Str kilt looks so much cooler, and I doubt many will be keeping it long.

I like the fabric pattern of the Eldritch kilt better but since it doesn’t have a belt or clear waist cinch, it’s really pretty hard to tell what it is without reading the title.
Barrelbane has a clear belt so it’s easier to identify from the photo but I don’t like the fabric as much as the Eldritch one.

Ya a belt would help define the shape a lot more.

I never cared about Hat of the Hellway to begin with so I only just thought about what a minor increase over Loki's Trickster Cap it is.
