Why were newbie players added at the last minute? Did someone drop?

Something similar almost happened with my Thursday 4:38 PM Sunshine run. Some people wanted to downgrade to Hardcore, after having heard about Nightmare being tougher than in years past. I had signed up for Nightmare and was determined to do Nightmare. Fortunately, I was able to persuade and fast talk everyone else to do the previously agreed upon Nightmare. My main argument was that the extra completion token was worth more than the possible loss of a Survivor pin. (Since we had a Troubadour, we would get max treasure anyway). And in the end, we did survive Nightmare so it all worked out!


Henwy and some of the others had advanced in a tounament, and had to pull out. I definitely understood the decision, but it did make it a bit difficult to set up the run.

Zack... I enjoyed running with you and am sorry you were disappointed (again definitely understandable). Would definitely love to run with you again... On Nightmare.

Sadly while looking over most of the builds, we were definitely not set up for Nightmare. We were able to breeze through the puzzles, the combats would have been near impossible. The final combat room me (elf wizard), and my wife (rogue) were the only ones hitting.

Did Henwy refund his tickets or give/sell them away?

Was it newbies from the wait list who wanted Normal? Or whoever Henwy sold the tickets to?

I believe he found them, and did supply them with some tokens. One had never played before.

The main problem was it was so close the run time that some of the characters were very patched together. The coach was still writing, while some of us were already in the training room. It was just kind of a mess. That being said I was very happy with the run, and enjoyed the people we ran with.
