Hi, I'm in the Saturday run tomorrow; are you around or when should I find you at checkin...?

Thanks for the run! I had a great time and we had a pretty smooth run.

It was a little weird in the mushroom room though. The DM seemed fine, but talking with Master Ed today the correct one should have been the blue one. It should have been the same for either side (puzzle/combat) and every run. Not sure if anyone will see this and can confirm or deny that. But in our case, the blue mushroom was definitely giving a false message. Kinda weird. Maybe they got a sound system wire crossed.

The correct mushroom was blue on every run I did, both puzzle and combat, and amongst the days I ran, and between hardcore and nightmare. I'll leave the explanation for the module, since my reasoning for figuring out the blue would be an opinion at this point.

SG room 6, on the other hand, had wild variances in the same day, at the same difficulty level, which made at least a difference in 270 hp of damage dealt to the party.

The sound was wonky Friday afternoon. The DM wound up reading us the messages.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

I read on another thread the sound leads were mixed up for a few runs. Don't remember if we ever did try the blue one or what. Had a Troubador so we got the ttreasure regardless.

The blue one was telling the truth -- I think it was something like 'his pink sister was jovial but acidic'. The problem people had was the next mushroom over looked pink, but it was actually the purple. At first I thought they were saying 'hasidic'...

I'm sad to say it, but I was very unhappy with this run arrangement (Saturday run).

I had been looking forward to playing Nightmare. I paid to play Nightmare.
I had bought a lot of tokens specifically so that I could play Nightmare!

Having newbie players put into the run at the last minute, well, it wasn't cool to change the difficulty suddenly in the training room.

I'm not suggesting new players should be made to play Nightmare, but I wanted what had been agreed upon. I was excited to play with forum veterans, I was told to join a forum group to play Nightmare.

I won't be running with Sunshine arranged run again because the trust isn't there anymore, but a thank-you to the players that were on the same run that made the best of the situation. :)

Why were newbie players added at the last minute? Did someone drop?

Something similar almost happened with my Thursday 4:38 PM Sunshine run. Some people wanted to downgrade to Hardcore, after having heard about Nightmare being tougher than in years past. I had signed up for Nightmare and was determined to do Nightmare. Fortunately, I was able to persuade and fast talk everyone else to do the previously agreed upon Nightmare. My main argument was that the extra completion token was worth more than the possible loss of a Survivor pin. (Since we had a Troubadour, we would get max treasure anyway). And in the end, we did survive Nightmare so it all worked out!
