TOPIC: Group Joining/Formation

Re: Group Joining/Formation 9 years 8 months ago #37

I'm currently looking at gearing the hell out of a Barbarian. My buddy was extremely successful on Monk this year and I know him and I would both love to run nightmare. I'm sure I could get (and gear) a 3rd guy who is an amazing caster. He's played Bard and Cleric the past 2 years and never missed a skill check. He'll memorize anything you ask of him Not sure who all is in for sure, and what positions you have. Any chance you can update the main post? I see a bunch of people saying they'd be interested, but do we have a list of people who are in for sure?

So I edited the first post to add in the first few people who chimed in, but a lot of this is obviously still up in the air. My group usually ends up doing the same events at gencon year to year so I can say with some certainty, even now, what our schedule is going to be. Like I mentioned, usually we try to run a bunch of TD events back to back on Thursday. Does that fit with everyone else who said they wanted in? I know those who volunteer will never know until the last minute so there will likely be some shifting about for Druegar/Incog. Again, ideally I'd really like to get a core group locked down for runs and then patch fill if I have to from amongst those interested. Other good run times for us would be Saturday noon to afternoon....2 slots could fit in there....and friday after 8pm.

Kai and I would be happy to join a group assuming it doesn't take us away from Zombie Orpheus world premiere events, Gamers Live!, D&D All Access Pass events. None of which are known in detail yet but normally happen Friday at 6PM, T F Sa 8-12 or 12-4 Sa 6-10

Yeah, shotgun sized holes in there :(

That said we have
Elven Wizard (me)
Monk (Kai)

I have a CoGF and will be working on getting the Synergy during the 'off season'. The initial list looks like we have some character overlap, and a shortage of squishy players. I may also start working on a Wizard, but it would essentially be from scratch, and certainly not NM ready by next year :(

Hahaha awesome update.... she's real!.... I .... uh..... I swear!

We dont really have any time restrictions that im aware of other since were from the west coast its tough for us to stay out too late. If we do well likely sleep in way too late the next day....

Count me as a fill in due to volunteer restrictions. Fairly set as a fighter/barbarian, looking to upgrade either cleric or monk build during the off season.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Much too late, I thought this group should be called The Greedy Effers. Then you could even have your own charm!

I would be honoured if you guys could find a spot for me in some of your runs.
I dream of playing with Smackdown, Kubu, Raven, Incognito, Lazlo and all you other legends!
My main is pally and that is what I am mostly geared for.
After some trades, I should be sporting a Ring of Heroism, Charm of Synergy and Charm of Good fortune.
The rest of my gear is mostly rare's but I have the occasional UR.
I am also a full time volunteer and I try to get the day shifts so my evenings are open for runs.
If you liked my room, my name is Steve. If you didn't like my room, my name is Hoolio

It feels weird being called a "Legend". At best, I'm Ultra-Rare. :P

Seriously tho - a lot of the recognizable names in True Dungeon are very approachable, and if our schedules happen to click, we'd be happy to run with you.

It's just hard to make it work while juggling a volunteer schedule, a couple runs with your regular gaming group, an invite from a good friend, covering a shift for someone who failed to show, spending time with wife/kids, eating, and sometimes enjoying games or activities which aren't part of True Dungeon (shocking, I know. But apparently there's this entire convention going on for 4 full days, just outside TD's doors! Who knew?)

When it works, though, it's a blast!

I was very fortunate to run this year with Widseth, Bpsymington, Valettutto, Xavon, Adeya, Shady Veldrin, MasterEd, Amorgen & Tobin & co, as well as my usual friends in the DDA, and a bunch of very cool Golden Ticket folks. (And probably a bunch of other well known forumites whose names I can't remember because my brain is like that sometimes!)

I hope to run with many more cool folks & forumites in the future :)

You mean there are things to do at gencon that isn't TD?!?
