TOPIC: True Grind 2014 Update #1: New Party Card

This is the first of several Grind updates, in preparation for GenCon.

My minions and I have been working with Druegar to design a new party card specially tailored for Grind. Since the forum doesn't have a good way of including attachments, I created a Box account to host the appropriate files:

There will be a minor reward (non-material, in-game advantage) for players who bring their character card stats and who submit their character's equipment list.

Some key differences:

1. Monk and Ranger have separate To Hit and Damage columns for their primary and secondary weapons.

2. If you have typed damage bonuses (e.g. fire, shock) then record the actual amount next to the icon. And then in the main space write the total damage bonus (including all typed bonuses).

3. The Conditional AC column can be used for AC against missiles or special monster types (Orcs, Fae, Giants, Large monsters).

4. We have slightly different Special Ability columns, such as Evasion, Resistance/Immunities, Set Bonuses, and Environmental.

5. If you are using any tokens with an attribute requirement, please annotate your attribute value in the Other section.

6. If your character is equipped with a Druegar's Death Die, Pouch of Tulz, Quiver of Anointment, or any Figurines, please show it to the Coach who will annotate it on the party card.

What do you mean by submit equipment list?

"Equipment list" is a printed list of the tokens you are using.
Bring a list with you to Grind, and give it to your Coach when they fill in the Party Card, and you will get a small in-game perk.
(Probably an extra HP for the list, and an extra HP for pre-generated stats.)

You don't need to include consumables which you are carrying (scrolls, healing potions, etc.) just items which you have equipped.

If you are equipping the AoW and bringing a bunch of common & UCs to use for the Doubler effect, they won't need to be listed since they're not part of your actual equipment. (Make sure to bring the actual tokens though, since you'll need to show them if/when you use the AoW.)

So Pouch of Tulz only works once? Is the whole TrueGrind considered one combat?

No. It's combat theme, but the Pouch of Tulz work as free action, so once combat round or rounds. If you hit heavy for damage, then you'll want to drink PoDD, EoL or anyother liquids that may help you like Potion of Distilled Healing.

At that time, any potions or spells which last for only 1 room will expire (things like Bless spell or Bulls Strength potions) and any once per combat abilities will be useable again.

This year, we're going to try a visual aid to keep track of which set of combats we're on, so players know when we've entered a new "room."

Sorry - I will be relinquishing that role to Druegar in a sequined dress, instead.

Yeah, the "One Use" label on the Party Card might be the cause of the confusion but I couldn't think of a better label to go there.

Pouch of Tulz and Quiver of Anointment are once per room (and there will be a few different "rooms" in Grind).

Whereas Druegar's Death Die and the Figurines are once per adventure.

But these are all tokens that we decided to try tracking this year. Partly so that we know who is actually equipped with it (and so within a party you can't just "pass around" a single token when it needs to be equipped).
