Can a person who is not dead use the Elixer of life as a full heal potion?

Or do you actually need to be dead to drink it?

These are good questions and I would like the answers as well (especially throwing and crossbow swapping) but keep in mind that not everyone can use all weapons. Wizards, for example, can not uses Maces and Quarterstaves were not made for Mace wielding classes. Likewise with shortswords vs. longswords, etc.

Regarding crossbows, better yet, if you had say 10 heavy (non-repeating) crossbows, could you shoot a new one each round for 10 rounds and then reload after combat was complete?

Excellent question. I am guessing you have to be dead but it would make sense to self-inflict wounds, die and then be brought back to full health. Seems logical if you are low on health, about to go into the final room and you don't think you will have enough time to revive anyone.

I do not know about one or two hands, but it has to take time of you have you hands full with sword and shield to drop at least one and rummage around to find the scroll, unroll-it, read it, drop the scroll, pick up the dropped (put away) item, etc. I would say at least having that be the last action in one round, or waiting a full round.

Since the average value of the V Rare token is 146 GP, if you get the 25 GP gem you are losing nearly half the value of your bag of tokens.

I agree with you. Getting a 25GP token as your rare isnt fun. Hopefully the next run of tokens will change that... or perhaps this gem has a special function in the dungeon.
