<br />What's a compound weapon? As far as I know, there's no such distinction in TD. Even hurled hand weapons (of which the MS isn't one) woudln't work that way.<br />

Well, color me surprised. I thought the ruling was the spear was a 'long spear' and you can't chuck those things. That's why the base damage is 1d8. A normal chucking spear has only 1d6.<br /><br />Not to mention, I have no clue why it woudln't allow for a STR bonus to hit. We were getting it applied across the board for skulls as far as I recall.

I think that was just a mistake.  We went through most of our events getting the +1 Mighty Longbow having a strength bonus for hitting and damage, until one DM told us the bonus was only to damage.

Good catch.  I'll update the file (it will need a bit of tweaking to support more than the mighty longbow for ranged strength bonuses but not too much, I think) and post it by tomorrow.  <br /><br />Thanks

<br /><br />If I had to wager a guess I would say the no STR to hit is a hold over from how it use to work in DnD. But all I know is, that the compound weapons get it because it says they do :)<br /><br /><br />Not to derail the topic but,<br />Just FYI in DnD with this type of stuff you would get the +ToHit from Dex and the +Dam from STR but only on things that were deemed STR allowable, so Strength bows you would but a sling you wouldn't. It was to simulate something you could put extra weight behind to do more damage. All of that mess has been changed and fixed up now in 4th ed. The masterwork concept in DnD was from a master craftsman idea that it was a cut above the rest and often did either +toHit or +dam but it was considered natural/non-magical.

First, let me say this spreadsheet is great. I had written my own, but this one is so much more sophisticated and useful.<br /><br />I have a couple of corrections. <br /><br />The Hand Axe is an offhand weapon for the ranger. I believe that the +1 Keen Hand Axe is an offhand weapon too, but without the new token guide I am not sure. <br /><br />The Scepter of Stirge is not +1. The stats in the spreadsheet are correct; it is just the name that is incorrect. <br /><br />For me, the spreadsheet always cuts off the character cards at row 56. I then have to expand the listing for classes like Barbarian, Fighter, etc so that the full list of weapons is presented. I am not sure if this is a problem in the spreadsheet or in how my older copy of excel reads it. <br /><br />Great work! <br /><br />

Thank you for the comments.<br /><br />I've fixed the Hand Axe and caught that two of the short swords (regular and Nightshade) were also missing from the offhand list (see the link in the next post).<br /><br />I'm holding the token for the Scepter of the Stirge in my hand and it clearly is titled +1 Scepter of Stirge.  When in doubt, I used what the token says even if it disagrees with the images online.<br /><br />I'll need a little more info on your "cuts off the character cards at row 56" issue.  I'm not able to replicate it, and actually the only sheet on the spreadsheet that is that long is Token Data.  The character sheets themselves only go up to 46.  If you are referring to the drop down lists themselves, they default to 8 lines with a scroll-bar on the side to control list position.  It was created in the 2003 version.  What version are you running?

Hey Amorgen,<br /><br />I don't know if this has been fixed in recent re-releases of the file (I didn't read your entire thread), but regardless I thought I'd toss out an fyi that a version I downloaded awhile ago doesn't seem to be adding +1 to Reflex Save when a character wears the Gloves of Dex which give +2 to Dex (and therefore +1 to Ref Saves). If this has been fixed, please ignore.<br /><br />- M.

I wonder if Jeff would allow you to post this as a link on the True Dungeon website from the front page - it seems to be real value added for players.  It might encourage more token buying also, as it would allow people to see how well-equipped they would be with more tokens (encouraging them to get those tokens).
