TOPIC: Rod of Seven Parts questions???

Re: Rod of Seven Parts questions??? 15 years 7 months ago #37

Well I am glad to hear that no one got ripped off in that type of amount. Although whos to say if some lucky stiff got one in the dungeon and had no idea what it was then sold it for next to nothing because of lack of knowledge.
hmm, well, am i that forumite you are talking about? i may also be the gamingetc guy...did the person have a leather backpack, vig badge, from indianapolis (i talked to another TD player for a bit at that booth). for the record, i had no intention of selling it to a dealer, i wanted to see what they would offer, and was very insulted that the guy came back (after talking to the person who knew about TD) and offered $10. though, you mention they just didnt know what it was, and i really hope that was the reason for such a low offer (though, why offer even $10 if you dont know what it is?).

What day were you over there?

I could very well have been you. I witnessed someone with one of those tokens talking to those dealers at about 4:30 pm on Saturday.
I sprung this one on Dave. =D

More info will be posted later in the Token Guide after I talk to Dave about it and he explains to me in a gentle way that my idea is bad -- and we change it to something better.

But I can tell you this: Check out your AD&D DMGs for a sneak peak. This sucker is a 7-year combo item!

Was it "easy enough" to get in a treasure pull?
How all could one get this piece?
Is there any way (short of a trade or cash sale) to get the first part now?

Thank you for another surprise!
Yes...now the patient waiting begins.

When all 7 pieces are fully assembled the token will self destruct and mini Smakdowns will run around your feet grabbing any tokens dropped during a dungeon run. They only answer to their leader (think mini-Marios). They are like your own personal secret service...they'll take a bullet for you, hit refresh on your computer 890 times when trying to buy tickets, stealthly snatch tokens from unsuspecting players, etc. They're dead useful.

OK, honey...I announced it....figure out how to make it happen!

In all seriousness, I didn't even know about this. He always has a few tricks up his sleeves that he doesn't even tell Dave or I.

Lori

LOL
You never know where those rods could turn up...

I'll go on a quick tangent as far as random powerful tokens popping up in strange places.

My combat group had a noon-ish run on Thursday, and one of my party members (who is not a token guy at all) pulled a Medallion of Greyhawk in Room 5. He didn't really know of it's value until our generous tokenholic Glendavar/James's jaw dropped to the floor. That was pretty cool to see. =D

Yeah - first day in, first shift - in the last two hours, I watched with glee as basically three "new players" (or perhaps simply not tokenholics) pulled (from the Comnbat 5 chest) 2x Medallions of Greyhawk, and a lucky wizard (1 pack of tokens) pulled the Bracelets of Zephyer (sp).

I was thrilled for them.
