Just had a thought based on a comment that people were disappointed with the distribution of Pouches and ingredients this year. If the HoP is discontinued, replace it with an amulet of exchange (but with a kewler name) - draw once, but you can return the token you drew and draw another if you like. Would limited, obviously - once per box, or per adventure (too weak), or maybe it would even have limited charges.
I'm not sure if I like the idea of that token, but if it does come to fruition - I would hope that you could use it somewhere OTHER than the room you draw the token (maybe in the tavern on your way out?) Some groups - I had to have grab their token and run after the time-out sounded. If we had people looking for a token to show us they could do an exchange, it might get messy.

Sounds like a license to fish. I hate fishing.

Henry you missed it. There was the great box for fishing in the tavern. (just kidding)

(I told my son he could only try once on your box.)

How about a new amulet to replace a possibly going out of print Horn Of Plenty called Bogof's (Buy one get one free :D ) Trinket. You are allowed to draw two tokens from a Treasure Box instead of just one.

I wouldn't call one exchange fishing. I would limit it like the HoP - you have to be wearing it for the entire dungeon. The big argument against it would be that it would take up time if a group was trying to hurry when leaving a room.
Of course it is. It changes the distribution unlike the HoP. The use of the token makes it more likely that subsequent people will receive crappier picks. How influential that is depends upon how many of these tokens enter circulation but if they were as common as HoP's, then I think it's pretty clear there would have been a lot of use.

The sales of tokens is a great source of funding for True Dungeon. I have never sat down and figured out how much the sales of tokens lowers the event cost, but it would be substantial. I hazard to guess what would happen to the ticket price if tokens went away. Hopefully, we can all work together to make the tokens fun and interesting for years to come. There will be much discussion in the Fall about tokens for 2008 -- and it will be everyone's great comments that will make the 2008 tokens a success.

Thank you to everyone who has offered suggestions and comments over the years. Many of you have chimed in here. You all have made something pretty dang cool.

It is really encouraging to see that ideas are heard and thought about even if they are summarily discarded. Heres to making TD even better.
