Speaking of carrying too many tokens into the Dungeon ... I know that people in my group dropped tokens out of their badge holders ... so next year, I'm planning to wear a full sheet of tokens around my neck just to make it easier ... and I'm also putting together similiar sheets for the rest of my party :)

Great point, that's why I'm worried about making people display too many tokens. Most people will only have their badge holder to use to display tokens, and it's very difficult to display more than 2 tokens at a time, and it's easy to lose tokens from the badge holder (tokens dropped out several times from my party during the adventure, and one friend lost his weapon token).

Overall, I'm against any sort of swapping, even for a character's own equip, other than weapons. My basic reasoning for it is one of simplicity. With people swapping crap around you bring in a lot of potential problems for confusion as well as other issues like how to display tokens, possible loss of tokens, keeping track of shifts from room to room, etc. What I would like to see is a better player card. In addition to AC and HP slots, and of course the saving throw bonuses to be added, I'd love to see something on the back in the form of a checklist of sorts for certain items, mostly rings and amulets. There aren't all that many options yet, after all and it wouldn't take much to work out a form of sorts so accessories could be handled just like armor is now. This might get unwieldly over time, but for the time being there are few enough options we shouldn't have a problem.

Something like this for instance:

Ring of fire resistance 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Ring of frost resistance 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Ring of the eye 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Ring of fortitude 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Ring of iron will 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Ring of reflexes 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Ring of feather fall 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Ring of the ram 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Ring of three wishes 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Ring of protection 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Ring of Focus 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Ring of _________ 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

Looking at this, you could quickly determine that player number 5 (check the other side with the class listings and count down to see who player #5 is) is wearing a ring of three wishes and a ring of protection. Easy peasy.

Even at a nice and readable font size of 16-18, there should be plenty of room on the back of the card to list all rings and amulets. It wouldn't be able to fit everything as TD grows, and the cards would have to be printed anew each year to accomodate changes to the options, but it would make things much easier IMO.

Hey ... does anybody know if the Ring of Focus allows the Cleric to do +1 damage on her turn attempts too? I don't know if TD considers turning to be a "spell". Not that it really matters for me coz I don't have a RoF ...

Yes, it does provide extra on turning attempts.

COOL - nice bonus for us Clerics...and believe me turning could really use some boosting.

What is the damage range or max done with MW Holy symbol and a RoF?

Are you testing me? I would have thought you would have figured that out already...

3-10 vs 1-8

I guess I was...I could not remember the turn damage - how is the 1-8 determined?

I've turned exactly ONCE in my 4 year career - it was SoCal 2004 and I got the animated skeleton that jumped up out of the crypt.

I've got a RoF for my wizard (forgot to use it, though!). Seems way better for the cleric/druid than for the wizard, since it helps both their attacks and their healing.
Maybe the Wizard need +2 to all damage spells - to make up for not getting any +1's on healing spells...

*does the power creep - creep*

Turning works like CLW. The DM presents a bead chalenge and the score is the same. Think of it as a Cause rather than Cure Light Wounds.

Dave
