Hm. I still have a token bug, even though I sold 90% of my URs to help buy a server (should have gone towards the debt...kicks self).

I'll be buying some next year, although perhaps not as much.
Do I still qualify as a Tokenholic? :) Yeah; I think I do. (too much like gambling!)

Please put me down for 3x 2XL (approaching 3XL size...arg!)

Here's a question...

Am I a tokenholic?

The reason I ask is I all your discussions and I empathize with the desires and actions spoken of and taken. However, I don't find myself doing many of them myself.

So here goes...

1st)I spend an awful lot on tokens, roughly half to 3/4(once in the last 4 years we spent the same amount) of what Henwy spends on tokens.

2nd)Despite half-hearted attempts over the years, I've never ever organized them all. I find myself organizing just what I and my group needs for the yearly outing to Indy and take only those.

3rd)Henwy is the only person who's seriously discussed trades with me and none of those possible trades ever happened.(I believe I am the cause for some frustration on his part. Especially last year.) Essentially I don't care that much about trades because I've got all of what I feel I need so all I'm looking for are those "extras" that are nice but not needed.

4th)What I do spend on tokens is not a financial hardship and does not impact any part of my life except my future retirement(except that I'm already retired) and is essentially disposable cash. I suppose I could save it and buy a new computer a few months earlier. Hmm... there's a thought.

5th)I don't dream about tokens or what can be done with them.

6th)Umm... what else? I'm not sure.

On another note, I plan on having my children help me with the organization of my chips today and tomorrow. I'm hoping to make a big dent in their organization.

have you bought tokens for "just in case"?

do you love your tokens?

do you need your tokens?

have you secretly or outright coveted anothers tokens?

have you etc., etc., etc.....

being a tokenholic is more a state of mind and in fun. it is something we joked about with the large orders being placed. someone mentioned that an intervention was needed. it just kind of took off from there. i got shirts made last year for the fun of it and the same this year.

we are just having fun. we can stop anytime. =|

I think this could be like Jeff Foxworthy's Redneck jokes:

If you measure your rope in MILES instead of feet, you might be a tokenholic.

If the postman refuses to deliver your tokens because the boxes are too heavy, you might be a tokenholic.

If you have to drive to GenCon because you can't afford the baggage charges to fly your token collection, you might be a tokenholic.

If you only carry platinums into the dungeon because the gold equipment is just to passe, you might be a tokenholic.

If you have more candelabras than Liberace, you might be a tokenholic.

(Not surprisingly, arcbat and I are guilty of several of the above.)
If you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

Have I bought tokens "just in case"? No.

Do I love my tokens? Umm... that depends... when it comes to GenCon time, yes I do.

Do I need my tokens? Only at GenCon

Have I secretly or outright coveted anothers token/s? Umm... haven't we all?

Only 1k feet of rope(well... in woodies. I've not gotten around to organizing the newer tokens yet)

My postman delivers everything ever since I gave him a bottle of very good single malt scotch for Christmas.

I drive to GenCon anyways(located near Chicago), so the weight of my tokens doesn't matter.

I've never cared all that much about the platinums vs the golds... besides, everyone knows the woodies are better

Since I've not organized the newer tokens yet, I'm not sure if I have more candelabras than Liberace(come to think of it, though, I probably do).

I've never eaten a meal and/or fallen asleep on top of a pile of tokens, though they have taken over my living room(separate from the family room) until they're organized.

I kept my very first red token(woody plate mail) until it lost a couple chips from its edge and became oblong.

I think I might be a social token user... At worst a borderline tokenholic. Unless, of course, I'm in denial.
