Now you south-paws...you might like the pocket on the right...but hey this is not a south-paw designed world is it Raven?

I'm more ambidextrous than specifically left-handed. I still write right-handed, because it's easier to avoid the binder rings, etc. that way. So I like my pens on the left where my right hand can grab them easily. Same with car-keys... they need to be inserted with the right hand, so I like them in a pocket convenient to my right.

Name tags, however, I pin left-handed, so I like to put them over my right breast. Ventolin inhaler and garage door opener go in a pocket accessible by the left hand. Swords and other long pokey things hang on the right, to be more easily drawn by the left hand. (I suppose, with the sword on the right hip, I'd be the sort who would have to mount a horse from the right, instead of the proper left-hand side, in the days of yore.)

I hear you, Raven. There's always ways to "adjust" to a right-handed world. I, too, us my hands interchangably. And Gary, if your head hurts, try being left handed in a 90% right handed world.
=D

As for the spot being on the left side. Maybe it's a way to mark the spot for our hand when we used to pledge allegance to the flag. LOL.

Yay for lefties!
My eldest brother and my best friend are lefties.
I have ambidextrous tendencies. And I'm a righty that writes like a lefty in that I don't pull my pen, I push my pen.

My mom's a lefty! Yay!

Joyus, I never thought about push vs pull when writing! Interesting! I guess I am a right-handed puller when writing.
Typically righty's pull their pens. Where as lefties tend to have to push their pens.
Because of this lefties tend to have a difficult time finding pens that don't cut out or glob ink. I know I did. Fortunately I have found gel pens(pilot G-2) work well for me.
And also like a lefty if I rush or am tired my hand tends to smear the ink.
Ink smear is a common tip off in writing that a person is a lefty because of the push vs. pull style of writing with the hand.
