Not gonna lie, at 40 (plus MB/GP), maps pretty much went from "must have!" to "why bother?". I can understand bumping from 10, but 15 or 20 would make a lot more sense with the MB/GP requirement factored in

I'll also share this. I'm not certain the expected value from a map is greater than 10 trade goods plus a monster bit.

I am certain it isn't close at 40 plus a monster bit.

I would bet we could use Jedi's spreadsheets to make this type of comparison.

I guess it depends on what the purpose of the transmute is. As it was announced, it has created a price floor for trade goods - the goods have a minimum value based on the fact that the price of the goods + monster bit was less than the amount players valued the treasure pulls. It also created a slight floor for golden fleece (although adding fleece requirements to other transmutes also contributes to this).

At the new levels, the components are worth substantially more than most players value the treasure pulls. I probably would only transmute the map to add one copy of the token to my collection.

I don't really like changing the value so late in the process, but if you have to, in my opinion the number should be closer to 15, not 40.

lets see
i saw auction DWP=$0.8 each
so 20 is 16$
add 12$ for GP(if you did not get it in loose gp) or 5-10$ for bit (if you didnt have it)

you are still under 30$. These in my opinion (like 10X treasure draws should be $40+)

Making this number 20 would likely achieve the stated goal without creating quite the outcry that a number of 40 would.

I second that! 20-25 seems in line with market and the range above, while 40 seems very out of range, disincentivizing even making these for me.

Thirded. We've recently seen 10x chips in the 15x-25x MS/DP range. (Part of that is extrapolating on 2022 preorders and multiplying by 3.33x.)

40x seems much too high to realistically have a lot of people make any of these for actual use rather than just as a collector's item.

how many people were around in 2011-2012. Those maps had some cool shit in that special box.

Yeah, I stay on the train of making a bunch going to making 0 if it stays at 40, but I'll be happy to sell MOST of my MS and DP for $1 if it stays at 40 :P (and I bet I'm not alone in that)

Good point - If these are a "special box" then all of this price analysis doesn't matter.

Kenban wrote: I will make absolutely zero maps at that rate, I had planned on cleaning out my extra monster bits from last year, and my extra trade goods.

Your also completely ignoring the fact that the recipe is still limited by needing a monster bit or 1000 gold for every map. Based on gold value the recipe is about the right price already, is it cheap based on the price of monster bits? Yes, but this will also help essentially rebalance the trade goods by removing a lot of the extra supply.

Raising the price a little I understand but 4x is insane.

I do think this will literally squelch the current market demand. I have absolutely bid $1 for items because I have SO MANY MONSTER BITS. If you remember (and its documented) the reason for getting this out there was to soak up the trade items...8k auctions really do not work with 50 cents for DP and MS...

If you go to 20 trade items, it should be okay, but anything above that, I will certainly exercise Lazlo's generous offer and unload the acquisitioned trade items to him. But that doesn't really solve the problem of removing the trade items from the hordes that are out there...
