On the other side of that, I was a little disgusted when a whale benefactor came up to me at the end of a run with his palm out and I had to inform him I had a full set of boosters of my own, so I didn't need his largesse.

Eh. I offer a loan of my extra treasure boosters if I am on a run without my full crew and split the boost with the people who want to borrow 50/50. Seems to work well.

I wouldn't feel disgusted if a random person had offered to loan treasure boosters that I didn't need. I'd just tell them I was covered but thank you

+1 to both.

Naturally, opinions differ, but I feel asking if someone wants to borrow for a share is very reasonable, and was the reason I became such a big token enthusiast. If I'd never ended up borrowing that CoA all those years ago, I might never have gotten such an addiction deep love for tokens.

Of course, asking if someone wants to borrow also means not assuming they need to or want to.

The end of the run part of that is a bit confusing. Wouldn't you have told the Coach that you had your own TE tokens when the person was trying to loan them out to the group in the coaching room?

it's a little confusing, but I've seen times where someone has 10 CoAs and just tells the coach up front that the party is covered. It speeds things up and not everyone has to display their TEs. Hopefully, someone would still speak up and make sure that person knows they have their own, but I can see it happening.

As for sharing CoA's, I don't have extras, but I see how that works for both parties when the treasure is split. Obviously. when someone invests the resources to acquire extra CoAs they'd like to see some return on that. On the other hand, the person borrowing the token did pay the full price for the run. So, splitting the extras seems like a fair approach. Also, I had friends who took advantage of that this year. There's no guarantee the extra draws they got were the difference, but I'm sure it didn't hurt when they pulled Thor's +5 legendary hammer.

if I loan out TEs, its to make sure I GET MAX TREASURE. I dont want anything in return...other than to see what you got(if I have time) with new people . This way I can inform them of what they got (so they dont get cheated)
Also If Someone loans them out, the new person changes their mind about sharing (if the deal was 50/50). TD will not enforce the treasure split. The wizard gets 20. If the wizard says a Big FU to the person that loaned them...well Then the wizard has extra chips

Since i am newer to all of this, these might be incorrect conclusions.

It seems to me that the # of treasure draws has gone up, the rate of UR+ is lower, MB has stayed about constant, and at the same time the cost to transmute has gone up. That all seems to balance out for established players / token farmers, but punishes newbies.

I can say from experience that my first couple of treasure draws did nothing to draw me in further to TD. It was the people who i was playing with that kept me going. They started 5+ years ago and had a UR+ draw and it hooked them. I am not sure where my group would be now if that run long ago was at today's treasure rate...

If the gentleman was looking for anything more than a handshake and there wasn't an agreement ahead of time, that is pretty presumptuous.

Yikes... The new (old) flame war starts up...

Your TEs so you do what you want and make whatever agreements you want. But...

I can tell you as a new player, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when a vet vultures over a brand-spanking new player to get an extra 10+ treasure pulls. Saw it. If it'd been me I'd have felt like a piece of meat rather than a valued teammate and probably would have been done (or less invested) in TD.

YMMV.

My introduction to CoA came on a run where a vet was offering a split. Hadn't done many runs, adored the pulling of treasure, and lept at the chance to triple it. That experience made me realize how much better it would be to procure one of my own, and a few months later did. This had the fortunate (from my TD-loving perspective, though my wallet offers a lively debate) effect of "well, having spent so much on a CoA I should do more runs to make it worth it, but if I'm doing more runs that totally legitimizes getting more tokens..", a trend that seems to ever continue.

Mostly, I can see both sides. Individuals who offer TEs to the entire party are awesome, and I remain pretty ambivalent as to whether they give the lot or offer a split.

Community has been good to me over the years so I have no issue loaning my TE's at "no cost" these days on PUG runs I join. Now I will and have worked out various deals with folks before runs, attempting to make sure all parties involved are happy. I just don't like the idea of 'cornering' someone in the coaching room. I also don't want anyone ever to feel pressure to use a CoA or CoGF because I will get 1 or 2 less chips if they don't. It is 1 or 2 chips it is not going to make or break me. I would rather we all have a good time.

Offering to split is fine, if I saw someone cornering a player and trying to force the matter that would be something entirely different and definitely not a thing I would be okay with. I really hope that isn't happening, I would definitely say something to both parties if I ever saw it.

My 2nd ever run I pulled a Charm of Heroism (I sold it to pay for Gencon the following year), a friends wife pulled a Legendary on her first run. Getting good pulls from the treasure box is what hooked us. I would rather have only 3 pulls with a decent chance of getting something good, than 21 pulls and a minimal chance.

I do feel like over the 7 years I've been playing, the treasure pulls have been getting weaker. The monster bits and treasure box only pulls do help though as transmuting is my other passion. I don't know any other games that offer such a cool mechanic, it gives fun meta goals to keep working towards throughout the year so to me it still makes it a lot of fun.

Even offering a split could be cornering someone. Even if it is advantageous to them. Walking into the coaching room and saying I will give you extra treasure if you give me some of it can put someone into an odd position. I am NOT saying that it always does or even usually does, but it can. I am also NOT saying that people should not do it. I don't care if you think it is fine or not. It is between the people in that coaching room, unless Jeff says something about it. I personally am not a fan of it it happening.
