TOPIC: Lenses of Divine Sight - Different printings?

So I traded for another Lenses of Divine Sight at GHC, and was just organizing my tokens when I noticed this difference. Looks like it could just be a smearing of the ink or simply not as crisp. I looked at some pics from Ebay and it appears they are split between these two types as well. Was the first printing simply more crisp than the second? Or was it just random as to which kind you got? Kinda just curious as to what other people's lenses look like.

The one on the left is the one I traded for this past weekend. The one on the right is the one I got when I exchanged my old LoDS for the new type at...ummmm Origins, I think?

All of mine look like the brighter one on the right of your photo. If I buy any more, I'll be sure to check them.

It's not as obvious as the different printings for Girdle of Frost Giant Strength, +3 Mithral Bracers, and Ring of Improved Evasion.

Is there someone who has one like the one on the left who got it directly from TD as opposed to ebay or trades?

I say that mostly because, unless I recall incorrectly, the sketchy ebay auction guy had a sell history including a whole bunch of lenses, often appreciably below PyP prices (like in the $80 range).

Yeah, this was kinda my thinking too...

Same; the one on the left looks a lot less professional if that makes any sense. Less polish and more of a "printed" look.

Unless the individual also has a way to fake the stars, they'd basically be putting a fake sticker on a different UR.

Yeah, that does raise a couple of red flags.

I take it back, I have a stack of Lenses of Divine Sight, and one of them does look like the variant. I wouldn't be able to tell them apart except for the amount of purple around the glasses, but that is a very noticeable difference. The background might be a bit darker. The variant token does look authentic to me though, the sticker has the same sparkly look when angled to the light.

I only bought one of my LoDS on Ebay, it was back in June, but it wasn't from this seller, it was from a forum member. I did buy several of mine from the forums also, I'm not sure if this was one of them or the one from Ebay or one of the ones I got directly from True Dungeon.

Regarding the stars, there aren't any stars on the back of URs. From what I can tell, the backs of URs is exactly the same as the backs for Rares/Uncommons/Commons. Maybe there should be a difference to avoid someone altering a R/U/C to a UR?

I think URs don't have any stars on the back, the backs look like R/U/C tokens.
