I'm a little surprised that so many people went from ten all the way to zero. As a frequent Druid/Cleric, I plan on getting one for myself, so I can conveniently keep my own HP topped off just by siphoning one point from each LoDS spell I cast (something I can't do with a Linked Shirt). I'm pretty sure that's worth half an ear slot to me :)

In my case its simple, I have a 1k per year token budget. Next year (counting dupes I need for my wife's build) there are 10 items I need more then the key. That doesn't make it bad in its current form, just not in the top 6 for me that year.

Basically if slotless its a no brainer to max them out. I’m not sure I’m going to use any slot expander other than orbits. This means that it’s just not good enough to push other charms out of my builds.

I see it as high priority to add to my MeC using wizard builds - when you are taking 10 damage per round, healing really matters. With melee builds, most will be a good fit for this. In terms of prioritizing the new URs this next year, I'm at the following:
Arcane Belt
Semi-Lich Skull
Arcane Earcuff
Arcane Bracelet
Taborlin's Key
Shirt of the Oaf (mainly for the transmute - not to use directly)

From there, pretty much everything is equal to me (which is an amazing feat on Jeff's part) except the flaming dirk, Cook's hat, and the lucky set (lower priority since those are more directed at newer players).

My plan is to get an onyx set of everything to keep and 1 of each of the ones tied to transmutes. If I'm getting duplicates of anything, it would be Taborline's key, the shirt of the oaf, and the arcane earcuff.

I could see quite a few people ordering just the key or getting multiples of it (I've already talked to people who had planned crazy stunts with shirts of linked healing, the key, and a couple other items yielding something like 12 healing to the entire group every time with bardic heal)(not a bad idea - makes having a cleric not as important if you can heal 120 per casting 3-4 times).

My guess is the most popular items in $250 orders this year will be the arcane earcuff, charm of broaching, and the arcane belt.

For the most part, TD fans tend to spend a fixed amount each year - specifics on tokens don't tend to change that, that only changes which ones they buy. I don't see Jeff losing any money from changing the key.
What do we want? Evidence based science! When do we want it? After peer review!

I'm like you - if this were a Rare I'd outfit 10 without question, but as a UR it is now well below many others that I want to get. Next year is seeming a bit like 2014, with several really great URs to buy.

They might be cautious buying them with the intention of using them with the Bard mass heal, until the character card redesign is done. I wouldn't be surprised to see that mass heal spell disappear, given how it combos with the Keys.
