Then the case was auctioned off( no GP in case) in 2007 or 2008

Loremaster Lazlo strikes again!

This has to be the right answer....

But if that is the case, now we need to know who acquired it! (And whether Trent currently has it)

LOL - it does sounds like something that would go well in my collection.

:)

Inception! It goes in your collection, but your collection also goes in it!

The 2005 tavern was awesome! It was what really got me into collecting tokens. Among other things, like drinks & events, they had TD run Armory and Magic shops set up, that let you trade tokens. I even made another token purchase in the shop to get more tokens to trade, and that was just the start of the token buying avalanche. :)

Sounds really cool. Did TD just become too big for this to continue? Not enough staff? Emphasis was put on the dungeons?

No like anything good. Some people took advantage of it and bought all the good stuff and turned around and then selling it for higher price

There was that. But one of the bigger things was that the hotel said drinks and food had to be sold through the hotel.

I also think that once people started setting up as token sellers, it made the official TD token trading shops unnecessary. They were wonderful for that one year, even if some people took advantage. I do recall most top tokens, like rare weapons, were out of stock.

I was doing the same thing that year. I remember that the shop was usually out of the gauntlets even though it was the most expensive rare. I did manage to end that gencon finally with the gauntlets, elven chain, and +1 long and short swords...so i was totally decked out for 2006 ;)

I miss the days when a top end Rare build was so exciting and fulfilling. :)

The syndicated version debuted in 2008. The show itself debuted in December of 2005, so it totally could have inspired something from 2007. (I know for a fact that I was doing DoND inspired things in college, and I graduated in 2007.)
