I know you were, but I can only apologize for and modify my own behavior. I didn’t take it as a direct personal attack.

I think one factor was the rapid time frame we worked with. There was clearly a need to move quickly. I think this ramped up the intensity.


As well, there were major changes to well established systems and powers. That part actually went remarkably well. But I believe it did factor into the intensity of other discussions.

Expectations were a part of it as well. Clearly there was an effort to reign in power creep. There seemed to be consensus on that as a goal. At least until sacred cows started be slaughtered.


It would have been better to vet the recipes in Lords and Ladies first.


Hopefully there will not be this scope of changes to tokens and powers for some time to come.

I'm really wondering why this didn't happen. I can understand the need to get the tokens finalized if they need to get sent to the printer so they can be manufactured, sent back, etc. on Jeff's timetable. But I'd think getting the recipes finalized and printed wouldn't be subject to the same constraints. Maybe Jeff can share if there are some constraints that led to the recipes needing less time than we think?

Do you mean like the potential update/rewrite of the class cards Jeff mentioned is likely in the plans for 2020?

Maybe we should get those discussions started next week after everyone cools off from the transmute recipes, just so there is plenty of time. Along with starting the idea process for the other 7 class-specific legendaries...

I don’t think it was any one thing, just a series of “one last straws.”

For the new folks out there watching, I hope you see this ruckus as a positive. The TD community is small, but we’re passionate about the game. We have different views and perspectives, but in general everyone and their opinions are respected, even when we don’t agree.

We usually come to consensus on a lot of things. Sometimes we have to settle for compromise. But we all keep coming back. When it’s all said and done, we’ll march off together and kill a dragon or something.

I was really focusing on Tokens and Set Powers. I suppose we could find ourselves right back here when/if there is a character class redesign.
