I’m not being petulant when I say that if that’s what it does, I’ll sell/trade/give our charms to someone who will enjoy them more. The number of RoSP owners is a small percentage of the total player base, so I get why many who haven’t had the opportunity to play them would jump at the chance to, and I don’t blame them.

All I’m saying is, some will think a ten-player prestige run would be a blast. Some don’t. I’m in the latter group. You’re in the former. That’s fine. I’m not lobbying for or against any particular decision. It will be almost impossible for Jeff to make everyone happy, no matter what he decides.

They’re a bonus. No one expected them. Whatever they do is fine with me. A Prestige run would disappoint me but it’s not going to upset me. He’s done Patron-only events; maybe this will be targeted towards lucky non-patrons.

I get that you’d sell your charm tokens if that was the case, but to avoid the part of my statement that gave a new player a run they would probably not get again (unless charms are a recurring thing) since the RoSP is not manufacturable again was highly upsetting. I’ll put the “generic” $250 a year purchaser player into that group also, unless things change as I said. The idea that the elite would be put off by the idea that it might give them a second run they already get once a year, and so it is below them and they would also take the time to remove the conversation of the rest of their community, sir, is the problem I had. Call me what you will, petulant, socialist, numbskull, bard chaotic or soap boxer but your disrespect was much larger than I believe you realize.

I try to trim down my replies to avoid the wall of text-thing. I wasn’t trying to misquote or disrespect you. (Too be honest, I almost never read those big grey boxes because I already read the original. I just assume others do the same. I mean, did you reread the block I quoted?) And I certainly wasn’t calling you names. I was just trying to zoom in on the one sentence I was responding to and help anyone else avoid sifting through a screen and a half to figure out what I was on about.

I don’t see it as “removing the conversation.” Everything you said is still there, just a post or two back.

In general, if I lop something out it’s because I AGREE with it, or at least I don’t disagree. I think my last post made it clear that I understand why non-RoSP holders would find your idea awesome. But it does nothing for me. That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be the way it goes.

The “petulant” comment was all about me, not you. Tone and gestures don’t come through text, and I was afraid some would hear me saying “if it isn’t the way I want it I’m taking my ball and going home.” So I was just trying to explain where I was coming from.

I could see it being an alternative to the RoSP idea. Yes not many people get to play as RoSP classes. But even fewer arguably get to play in Golden Ticket runs. This may be a way to trigger a variation of a GT run with similar prizes by transforming a normal run with 10 packs to a special treasure bag run that can only be achieved through actually playing TD as opposed to placing orders and just getting lucky. And possibly as a bonus allowing players to play RoSP or special characters as well.

One more thought:

I’ve bought all the GenCon runs I plan to. I’m in all the groups I want to be. Our schedule is set.

The “opportunity” to up-end all my plans, cancel some things and reschedule others, and sort out an entire new random group of ten just doesn’t feel fun to me at this late date. Pre-registration, yes, I could deal. I don’t care if it’s Prestige, preconstructed, or sealed pack. It’s going to be a pain in my burro to carve out an extra 2 hrs between our FT volunteer schedule and everything else.

If it’s cool enough, whatever that means, then maybe I’ll be excited to go through the angst and agony of shuffling everything again. After all, Bokonan said, “unusual travel suggestions are dancing lessons from God.” As of now, not so much.

But I’m probably the only one. So we’ll see.

Are they usable Immediately?

Is there a time limit for their use?

How long will they be in the treasure mix? Was it just Origins? Just this season?

Can an AG token be exchanged for one of them?

The fact that it occupies a charm slot is not fully a surprise but might make some builds sub optimal as they drop a charm. i guess that also answers my question on whether they can be uused on the Pit run since you cannot equip them there.

who gets my charm bracelet? the wizard with CoA, CoAw, and Mec or the Druid/Cleric who have CoA, CoAw, and Charm of Enlightment....

Most charms are not turned in. Perhaps they were put on the website “in” the charm slot to make them easy to find in the future when we are not all following links provided?
