TOPIC: Dansco vs Lighthouse (Token Sheet Binders/Holders)

I am thinking of getting some new token binders.

Just curious what people think is better - Dansco vs Lighthouse?

In each case, what is the correct size/dimensions to get for tokens? (How many tokens per column/row?)

For Dansco, seems like 40 mm holds more tokens per page, but is a very tight fit. Some players prefer 41 mm or 42 mm because it is easier to get tokens out. Another option is American Silver Eagle size pages. Does that sound right?

And where are the best places (links) to buy them (both binders and pages/sheets)?

I use Dansco Silver Eagle binders for my primary builds and my "Big Book of Healing and Gear." I like them very much.

My secondary builds go in a three ring binder using the sleeved sheets Kirk sells.

The Dansco Binders seem reasonably priced at $9-$10 for the actual binder.

But is it really $5-$6 for every single page? It's not like X pages for $5-$6?

In contrast, the Lighthose Binders seem much pricier (anywhere from $25-$50ish). But the pages seem much more reasonably priced ($12 for a pack of 5).

The Lighthouse pages are ~1/4 an inch thick, so you get like 6-8 pages per binder.

The Dansco ones are about the thickness of a token, but have form factors of like 4 or 6 tokens per page.

I use Kirk's interlocking sleeves which hold 15 tokens per page and are around as thick as the tokens.

The next time we have lunch I will bring samples of what i use to carry each of my builds in along with a sample of what I use for long term Token storage.

I think TD Tavern is the best source of Lighthouse items, but perhaps I'm biased. TD Tavern also delivers at Origins or GenCon

If you want the actual Lighthouse binders to go with the sheets I could get some for you as well.

I prefer Lighthouse sheets and generic (zipper closed) 3-Ring binders. Yes that means you have to have a hole punch and punch them yourself but I am equipped and qualified for that effort!

I keep my build in a Dansco binder, but I have made a cover that snaps closed and has windowed areas on the front and back. I keep tokens that I may be asked to show in the dungeon in the windowed pockets so that I don't have to open it while on a run. It has a removable strap as well, so I can carry it over my shoulder. The tokens I plan to keep, or to trade in the future, are in some cheap coin pages kept in a zip closed three ring binder. I am considering checking out the pages Kirk has with the aim of improving the binder.

i've had great luck using the 40mm dansco pages and you can find those at 12/page. it is a bit tight getting tokens in and out, but still very manageable and worth the extra trouble to me to fit 3 more per page.

the binders can fit 6 pages iirc.

Is there something out there that is shoulder strap ready? I play ranger/monk and the thought of carrying a binder at all times is not appealing. Like something that can be carried handsfree as i check my bag in AG before the run.

So far i'm still using the vinyl coin wallets purely for the reason i stuff them into a pocket during the run itself and grab them easily to show tokens during the run itself. I tried the Ultra Pro 2x2in coin pages, that was a mistake i learned during TDC.
