Interesting. Normally, I'd be against a clear duplication of power. But with each Cert giving a single use, well, I can see its use.

I would like to think that there are, Mike, but I have heard quite a few people talk about the number being in that range. Would love for there to be at least 3 to 4 times that many :)

I personally know where at least 10 are. I would bet closer to 50.

Mike, do you happen to remember when he said it would stack?
I don't happen to remember that.

I'm in the "not stack" camp, although technically named the same named token, it is essentially the same tokens since it retains all the stats. So it would make sense they wouldn't stack.

Are these seg 1s or super seg 1s.
I have 2 seg 1s and 4-6 super seg 1s

Color me uninformed, but what were the super seg 1's Lazlo? I've only ever seen/heard of the +1hp rod segment 1. Was there a more powerful or misprint version of segment 1 as well?

I don't recall there was a ruling that a completed rod + additional individual components would or would not stack.

I believe Jeff said something to the effect that people might be tempted to keep the segments separate for their bonuses. Of course, that was seven years ago, and plans change.

Personally, I'm pretty happy with the completed Rod.
(Though I'm expecting the sub-classes to be pretty powerful!)

Coin of fate. It can be a seg 1 or whatever you want it to be ( HoP, 50ft rope)

To be 100% clear, a Mithral Coin of Fate may be exchanged for nearly any other token. It does not repeatedly "morph" into different tokens as the owner sees fit.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

With the news of the completed rod retaining all of the individual bonuses, I definitely plan on transmuting mine now.

The only downside that remains is that I won't be able to split up these bonuses among my newbie friends. For example, if my character has an even DEX, then the +1 DEX is better used by someone with a character with an odd. DEX. And usually someone besides my wizard better benefits from the +1 STR. But this is a small downside when compared to the opportunity to play a special subclass.

Which is the main reason the Coin of Fate should never have been allowed to be turned in for Rod Segments. It has massively increased the amount of Segment 1's in circulation, which were only supposed to be available as a reward for ordering tokens. I hope the Coin of Fate, and other similar tokens, are not used anymore, unless they have strict limitations, like maybe any PYP other than HoP.

Ah that makes perfect sense. I completely forgot about the Coins of Fate. I don't mind one way or another, because the additional segment 1's that could be created should just mean that more complete rods may be created, and the subclasses will get utilized more frequently. (it was always my understanding that the oldest rod segments were the most rare and had the least in circulation, where more recent segments were more easily attainable and generally a lot cheaper)
